Hi there, I’ve been reading following 5/3/1 for a couple of years, I’ve followed several of the different assistant templates.
At the moment I’m doing the bodyweight template 2 days a week because I’m busy at work and I’m doing a lot of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and MMA and bodyweight exercises make me feel good.
I do -
Wednesday or Thursday
Snatch-grip Deadlift (This is new, I normally do sumo or conventional)
Military Press
Weighted Chin-ups
Situps
This is usually shorter because I’m busy at work and I go to the gym in my lunch hour.
Saturday
Squats
Bench Press
Chins and dips (75 reps total)
GHR (4 or 5 sets of 10)
Ab Wheel (75 reps but I might change to hanging leg raises)
I have longer on a Saturday so I can do more volume.
I was just wondering what you guys thought as I haven’t really had any feedback on 5/3/1.
Also does anyone else use this template? Lots of people post about Big But Boring but I don’t think I’ve seen many people posting about the bodyweight template, it’s my personal favourite.
