@CT my wife just gave birth but had to have an emergency c section. She understandably needs my help so I can’t go to gym until she heals. I was wondering do you have any ideas for bodyweight home workouts please?
Check out the book Overcoming Gravity by Steven Low. I think you’ll find plenty to keep you occupied while you’re out of the gym, and you may even find you prefer some of the body weight progressions to your usual barbell and dumbbell movements. There’s a whole chapter on routine construction as well. It’s going to be hard to really challenge your lower body without barbells, but the book does have options.
Chin up bar
Parallel bars
Push ups
1 pull-up, 1 push-up, 2 squats, 2-2-4, 3-3-6, up to 10-10-20 and back down to 1-1-2 for a total of 100 pull-ups, 100 push-ups, 200 Squats, for time.
100 burpees for time.
Both simple, great BW workouts.
AND CONGRATS!
Look into l/v sits, pseudo planche pushups, single leg lunges, and bridges.
congrats my man.
c-section won’t put her out of commission that long, right? Plus you’ve also got, you know, a new baby. Do you really need to workout? If anything, I’d just do some pull ups or push ups out of boredom, lol.
