You’re really making fun of somebody for asking a question? Mr. I gotta start a new fucking thread to ask the same fucking question.[/quote]

yeah

I’m not an expert but I have gained 90 pounds in less than two years, without being a total fat ass. I recently started a “cut” because I felt I wasn’t gaining as much lean muscle (slowed progress, and not good progress).

Personally I think I will start bulking again when I have fairly solid 6 pack and then try to do a much “cleaner” bulk. You could potentially use the same logic for a when to start bulking again.

My guess would that it would be smart if you should play it by ear and start bulking when you think your fat loss has really stalled and continuing would be detrimental to your lean muscle mass. Idk 10%? if you really want a number, but we all know how deceiving numbers can be.

I think that’s sensible advice. My only issue with ‘keeping going’ until I feel I’m lean enough, i.e. 6pack shape, is that I’ve been cutting for 3.5 months now and I’m worried about the impact that a longer cut might have on my metabolism…

If you want to continue getting leaner after dieting for some time (e.g. 4+ months), eat at ~maintenance for about a month first. What you’ll find is that you start to feel leaner (muscles fill out), and some people may even lose more fat, but it’s mainly to keep your metabolism up. Then go back into another short cut.

So yeah, don’t just aim for magic numbers (percentages of bodyfat), think of it more in time frames (small-medium cuts work better at preserving muscle etc than long drawn out ones). And when you go back to gaining again, try to spread it out more (solidify it…don’t greatly bloat up in 2-3 months and have to cut immediately after lol)

Surprised no one mentioned this but YOU SHOULD HOLD YOUR CUT WEIGHT for some time before bulking immediately, as you should with your bulk weight.

3.5 months is a long time to be cutting if you aren’t entering a contest. Were you seriously out of shape to start or something like that?
