as far as long head exercises go…I’ve found that Overhead DB extensions sitting reverse on preacher bench is probably the best I’ve done…The angle is just a lot more comfortable then a military press bench and you can use slightly more weight…
When you get really strong at the movement, it becomes a bit risky though…you should probably have somebody spot you on them…
The movement would probably be even better on a cable, but its dificult to replicate the force angle…there is a cable machine at my gym that is for overhead extensions but its not the same angle…hits more lateral head…I’ve seen a machine in one of MD’s videos in bev francis’s gym that replicates the motion, so I know one does exist…
I gotta say I love training my triceps my favorite mass builders for the tris are Skull crushers, close grip bench press and over head db extensions one handed or two handed are great as well as pushdowns and rope pulldowns

That dude behind him. Before he starts doing pullups you can see his face and he looks like a fucktard.
Lol what a loser.

Gotta say the dude in the video has some bad form, if the weight was moderate to where you can do a full extension and manage the range of motion lowering up/down of the weight then great but if you can’t then your doing more bad then good. Having the cable smash into pressing one side of your body into more then an even base then you really have no center classic example of over strain is the elbow braces but will give it up to the big man for effort.

StakedJacked, is this meant as a joke? Did you not watch the first half of the video, where he clearly explains why he is using this particular form?
Take a couple minutes to watch some of his videos around this site, and realize that he moves more weight than most will ever imagine putting onto a bar.

yeah, but at least he’s in the gym TRYING to get it done. That counts for something.

i figured it was just copied and pasted from youtube.
^Damn! That’s impressive.
Imagine how much tricep power meat could harness if he only heeded the advice on YouTube?

So, away from drama and back to building muscles…
Anyone tried these “Chain Extensions” for tri’s?

My gyms don’t even have anything like this to even try them… ![]()

Sorry to hijack but really didnt want to start a thread about my tricep routine. what do you guys think of this. Tris are a really stubborn bodypart for me unlike shoulders and i do have some elbow tendinitis issues so bb skulls are a no go because i cant seem to progress on them.
CGBP - ramping 6-8 rep sets to a top set
db skull crushers - 4x8-10
oh db ext - 4 x8-10
pushups to failure
jesus maurdermeat that skullcrusher vid was beastly.I must try lowering them behind my head,I used lower them to my nose/forehead and got some bad elbow pain.
Wtf, 225lb skullcrushers is just insane…

Yes, I have. They are a pretty awsome finnisher movement. The downside is that if you train in a commercial gym, you gotta haul your own chains in, do a mock treasure hunt to find the right handles, and set things up, all the while answering questions from the gawking crowd. On the whole, I would say they are worth it, especially if one has elbow or wrist issues with most tricep movements.
Definitely would like to try chains out for the triceps. Triceps seems like one of those muscles that just grow optimally when there’s some type of accommodating resistance… bands, chains, etc.
