Are there any worth reading out there on newsstands ?
I know you can get great info here and other places online, but I am an old-fashioned sucker for print magazines with glossy pages and a well-done layout.
Hell, I even find myself commiting the sin of actually buying a Muscular Development or even…yes, I know it’s wrong, Muscle and Fitness hangs head in shame. Even if there are only a handful or less of articles worth reading, I somehow enjoy just the physical reading and turning of the pages.
I hear ya. Its nice to just sit and read someone on paper now and again.
The only things I can bring myself to read is MD and Ironman. Flex and those others just seem a bit TOO much.
Muscular Development is a decent magazine. Why would you be embarassed to buy it?
Decent articles, columns by all the pros where–no matter how many editors and ghost writers get their hands on them–their true personalities shine through, and good coverage of both local and national bb’ing.
Plus there’s Gregg Valentino’s column if you ever run out of toilet paper and the always fun MD game, “Spot the typo.”

Because he thought that’s what most people on this forum think. I buy MD regularly. they have decent pictures, go into the “gossip” aspect of the sport and give at least 4 or 5 pros the last few sections of the mag to field questions. Whether they actually type their own responses or not is irrelevant to me. I buy the mags for inspiration. With the new focus on some of the newer guys and “esthetics”, there is more of that now.
