Bodybuilder's Grocery List

I think it would interesting to see how much we purchase in a week or a month to keep up with our bodybuilding ways:

For this week:
An Olympic Bench (my old one doesn’t cut it)
Flax Seed Oil
Fish Oil Capsules
Whey Protein Powder
Malodextrin power
Protein Powder (Whey/Casein)
(This isn’t to mention all of the steak, tuna, salmon, eggs, grain bread and vegetables I’m consuming)

My total comes up to about $230–of course all of this should last me for awhile hopefully

With what are you guys running up the cash registers?

Not counting supplements, my groceries usually run around $200/month. Factor in the Grow, fish oil, misc (Hot Rox, Power Drive, ZMA etc) and that number skyrockets.

websites for supps
mag-10
m
tribex
4-ad-ec
powerdrive
chocolate whey
glutamine
creatine
myoplex rtd’s
methoxy

Of course, I don’t buy all those supps every month, but that was just this month as I’m gearing up for the race to 200. I usually have the whey, methoxy, rtd’s, glut, and creatine on hand.

I don’t know how you guys are staying around $200/month. I’m usually around 300 or 400.

It ain’t easy, but here’s how it’s done:

  1. I’m dieting, so obviously it is much less expensive to purchase a 2000-2300 cal. daily regimen vs. 4000+ for bulking.

  2. SAM’S CLUB!!!

  3. Anything that isn’t obtained at Sam’s is bought as cheaply as possible i.e. checking the grocery sale ads each
    week.

  4. SAM’S CLUB!!!

Bahh… if my grocery bill goes under $600/month i’m dancing in the streets. And that is with only a few supps like surge and grow.

Course I do have 3 little kids and a wife on that bill.

I live in a rural area. At the right time of year grocery bill can be as little as $200 a month. Bob will sell me a cow for $300. We raise or own chickens and sell some of the eggs to buy flax seed for us and them. Joe will shoot two deer more than he’ll eat, and the processing for that is about $100. Danny will give me the hookup on his trees and garden for $200 for the entirety of the seasons. This will last 3 months. Too bad these never occur at the same time and aren’t a garunteed source like Sam’s.

I once read an article in Ironman by Richard Winett, Ph.D (writer & bodybuilder) stating that he spends $12.00 per day on food which is very cheap.

Where can you buy Malodextrin powder?

Brown Rice
Whole Wheat Bread (3 loaves)
Oatmeal

Eggs (4 dozens)
Chicken (2 kg)

Broccoli
Cauliflower
Lettuce
Tomatoes
Potatoes
Garlic
Onion

Apples
Oranges
Bananas
Grapes
Mangoes

Ground Pork (2 kg)
Ground Beef (2 kg)

Cheese (Full fat)
Milk (whole)

As unbelievable as this will sound, it only costs me $36.50 USD no bullshit. How is it possible? I live in the Philippines. US $1 = 55 PhP, so in my local currency, it costs approximately 2000 PhP.

that’s so not fair man!!
