Body Comp: Thigh Fat

Hi everybody
I’m trying to shed serious body fat here… My diet is fixed and I’m disciplined (1 cheat meal every 2 weeks). I’m doing pretty good, being tested w/ a lot of method, including DXA every 3 weeks or so (I’m working in a research center). Here is the problem… My upper body is very lean, ~9% right now, but my lower body is fat. I know Poliquin gives some advices to reduce thigh fat in his biosignature seminar… I’m looking for help on good advices on how to shed fat in this area… Right now I’m supplementing w/ CLA, green tea, HOT-ROX, I’m eating tons of green veggies, including 1-2 cups of brocolis a day, am doing the German Body Comp and am doing the Get Shredded Diet… Any advices for me?

im pretty sure your lower body isnt fat. do you lift legs? you probably dont have much muscle in your legs

why you say u r pretty lean at upper body, whats your total bf % ? Once you get below 15, and ideally under 12 % you will not doubt start to drop fat in your lower body too, but yes, leg training with weights will also help. And also make sure your weight training duration per week definitely outdoes your cardio…cos remember, cardio essentially is a catabolic activity, therefore has to be used highly judiciously.

Good luck

apologies chuck boy, I missed your mentioning of body fat reading, well, in your case, you need to focus on your leg training and dont do lower body cardio, and if you are going to do it, keep it under 65% of your Max heart rate, and you will be fine…

I am.

Ok Stringer,

First of all apologies for not noticing the post was soooo old, since I am new, nd it just came up through google, when I was searching something.

Secondly, I am sure someone else can benefit and learn from each other.

Now thirdly, and most importantly, I think you seriously need some help, so much bitterness, so much built up anger, whats with that? What would help you is, pick up a local directory, and look for a shrink who specialises in extreme cases, and get in touch with him, I think you still have smoe tiem left to turn your life around, before you hang yoruself…

Good luck…

This is a bit off topic, but I just felt obligated to mention this.

You may already know this, but DXA uses x-rays, which you probably also know are potentially harmful to you. I work as a CT scan technologist, and had training as an x-ray tech, and we always try to give people the lowest amount of radiation as reasonably achievable (ALARA). The more radiation you receive, the more likely you could have an issue related to radiation exposure, such as cancer.

I don’t know a whole lot about DXA other than that, but it might be something to be aware of. There are lots of bad things ionizing radiation can do to you.

It probably isn’t a large dose that you’re getting, but if you keep getting them done every 3 weeks, it could add up a bit, especially if you also frequently have CT scans or x-rays.

edit:
Oh snap… I didn’t realize how old this thread was.
My bad… Well maybe someone else will learn something about radiation.
