Hey, what’s up everybody. Newbie here. Name’s Jake. I’m on a mission to achieve good health and look good naked! A little back story- 24 years old, diagnosed with fatty liver back in march. Adopted a paleo-esque diet on 3/1 to combat what ailed me. At the time, I was 6’1" 283lbs, 173.8lbs LBM according to a bioimpedence reading. Fast forward to last week, I was down to 237lbs and 179.4lbs LBM.
Had a vacation type weekend out of town with the girlfriend, and I am back up to 239-240… Pizza and beer will get ya! Been strength training since Early June. For a while, I was walking every day… 2-8 miles and doing sprints 1/week. All but dropped walking and sprints when I picked up the strength training… Was eating 1800-2000 calories/ day, under 50 carbs and around 160g protein. Slowly bumped that up to 2600 cals, 250-270g protein and under 100 net carbs/ day. That’s when the LBM started to pile on…
My reason for doing so was a roughly month long plateau. Since then, I have been under 240 for over a month and lost like 7lbs of fat, again, according to bioimpedence. Still wanting to get my macros dialed in and whatnot for optimal muscle growth/ fat loss… Ultimate goal- weigh over 200lbs with visible abs. Been doing the Greyskull LP without curls or neck harnasses but added farmer’s carries with dumbbells in at the end of each workout. I just grab some heavy ass weights, walk the 1/8 mile track, and when I successfully complete a lap with no drops, I bump up the weight. Simple as that.
So, I look forward to participating here at T-Nation. Been reading the articles like crazy. If anyone has advice, I would love to hear it! Cheers, folks!
