UPDATE (even though no one is following this log and I havent been on T-Nation in almost two months lol)
today marked the halfway point of the fire academy. Things are going great. Its so much fun and I’m out there showing all those other dudes how its done hahaha
havent been able to hit the gym since it started (7 weeks) but got off way early today and got in there… oh man it felt great! BW is down from 213 to 206 this evening.
Been running a lot during the academy and ran a 11:52 2 mile this morning during our Physical Abilities test (down from a laughable 15:32 on the first week)… my running has slowly come back so thats good.
aaaanyway, I probably wont be updating much since my schedule is off the charts for this thing. Getting up by 4:00AM and out the door by 4:40. My usual time home is 6:15PM and as late as 8 a few times… Long days but tons of fun.
I’ll fire this log back up after I graduate. 6 more weeks of takin names and kickin ass. Yeaaaaaaaa buddy![/quote]
Yay! U killing it YO.
And DUH.
I’m back (kinda)
Finished the academy, had tons of fun… Now the job hunt begins/continues.
Back in the gym tpday and so far I’m feeling crazy week. Over 3 months of no lifting has taken its toll… So has my lack of good eating habits. Ate whatever I could get my hands on during the academy cause being outside working hard in full turnouts and on air really is tiring.
Lost about 8lbs but gained a little BF I think. Sucks but whatevs.
Gonna be lifting Max OT style (from King Beefs thread)
Hit chest/Tri’s today and liked it. Will post more later. Glad to be back.
OMG 1st AFTER GREGRON!!! HNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGG!
THE KING HATH RETURNED!!
THIS HAS LITERALLY MADE MY EVENING.
Gregzor is back, this is better than the 3rd Chronicles of Narnia movie.
^^LOLOLOL
Thanks guys. Such a warm welcome.
Got into the gym again today for Back n Bi’s.
So far I’m two workouts in but I’m loving this Max OT training. I like that they workouts are short and you just hit it hard and heavy. Not sure how I’m going to respond because I’m used to more volume than this (well I USED to be used to more volume than this but 3+ months off changed that)
The weights are too minuscule to warrant mention at this point but I’ll try to get something up tomorrow. I’ve just really decided to check my ego and basically “start over” as far as weight lifting is concerned. Gonna take a week or two to fill out the weights I should be using.
It sure feels dang good to be back lifting weights though ![]()
OHAI

…
welcome back broheim
Good to have you back
Whats up Fellas? Glad to be back. I’ll try stopping by some logs tomorrow. Things are still busy but everything is good.
Started the new lifting program… going Max OT style from KingBeefs thread (like I said earlier)
The weights and volume are embarrassing but whatever. It is what it is.
For those not familiar with the program you basically ramp up your weight to 2-3 all out max effort sets (probably why its called MAX ot huh?)
Trying to keep my rep range for those max sets between 6-8. If I can hit 6-8 reps then I go up in weight. Pretty simple.
Chest & Tri’s day (Monday)
Incline BB:
205 x 8
215 x 5
Flat BB:
225 x 8
245 x 7
Incline DB:
90’s x 6, 5
Dips:
45lbs x 7. 8
Tricep Push Downs:
165 x 8, 8 (max on the stack is 140 and I hung a 25… still was easy. Not sure what else to do except maybe switch out this exercise cause its not heavy enough?)
French Press:
EZ Bar w/ 35’s x 8, 6
Finish wit 25 minutes of the stairmaster
Back & Bi’s (yesterday)
BB Rows: (big squeeze)
225 x 8, 8
245 x 8
Neutral Grip Pull Downs: (big squeeze)
195 x 8
210 x 6 (kinda a cheat rep on the last one)
Pull Ups:
BW x 8, 7 (<–LOLOLOL)
Seated Row:
110 x 8
140 x 8
Pinwheel Curls: (big squeeze)
50 x 6
40 x 11
Spider Curls w/ Straight Bar: (squeeze and stretch)
75 x 8
85 x 7, 5
Finish with 25 minutes on the stairmaster
I really liked these two workouts and they were both short… about 45 minutes (without the cardio of course) Gonna stick with these for a while and see where it takes me.
Also, just got my test results back for the fire department I tested with. There were 4,300(ish) applicants for the test and you had to have a score of 90% or better in order to get an interview.
I took the test 6 weeks ago and found out today that I got a 94.15 out of 100. I made “Category 1” and will be getting an interview. I’m really exciting. That was great news to get this morning. Pretty pumped… Life is good.
oh yeah, one more thing… Gregron is gonna be a papa! Mrs. Gregron is pregnant and we’re having a boy. its been a crazy whirlwind over the past 6 months but I couldnt be happier.
That’s a lot of good news… congrats man!
