Ink- it was pretty old school but I’m going to stick with it for a little while and see what happens. His philosophy is to shoot for 3x6. Once you can hit 3x6 you up the weight and start over until you can hit 3x6 again and then repeat. It definitely has a progression so we’ll see.
Scj- hahaha yeah. I’m doing a lot of stuff in the gym now that I haven’t done in forever. I think the mobility/pre-hab stuff has helped my shoulder a ton so I’m hitting a lot of stuff that I haven’t been able to hit in forevs cause of my injury. Pretty excited about that.
Frenchie- thanks a lot! It was so much fun. I appreciate your tips and that big pre meet checklist that you gave me a while back. Helped out tremendously.

So much stuff going on with life right now. Wedding season is in on like donkey kong right now! Got so much stuff done this past weekend… It was crazy. Tahoe was absolutely incredible! It actually snowed the two days before we got there so it was all white everywhere but sunny and still 60 outside. PERFECT! We met with the wedding planner, the hotel event coordinators, picked the spot for the rehearsal dinner and then had the tasting… OMFG!!! the food was out of control. Without a doubt the best wedding food I’ve ever had in my entire life and I’ve been to over a dozen weddings. I’m so pumped. I ate so much food at the tasting that I didn’t even eat dinner lolol
Hit hotel gym Saturday and did a little full body workout. Pretty legit gym for a hotel gym. I was absolutely gassed though! I was huffing and puffing while doing dumbbell curls and thinking “what the hell is wrong with me? I need to start upping my conditioning cause this is pathetic…” but then I remembered that the hotel is at 7,000 feet elevation lol
Got into the gym yesterday and did chest. Felt good.
Incline BB Bench:

235 x 6, 5, 4 - I was happy with this considering I’ve done BB inclines once in the past 3 years and it was last week
Flat bench: was supposed to do straight sets but I underestimated myself big time

I’m pretty sure I’m going to feel incredibly sore and regret the shit out of doing them. My buddy who’s my new workout partner is an ab machine and has the 8 pack to show for it. I out lifted him the whole session pretty much but he absolutely kicked my ass on the abs lol… It’ll probably be good for me though.

Steve- Yeah his workouts are pretty tough. Volume like a mofo… but it should work out good cause he’s an ab machine but doesnt really do legs. I get down with some legs but dont do abs so we’ll be pushing eachother with my strength vs his weakness and vice versa. I was feeling good from the running earlier but now my feet are cramping like a mofo and it sucks so bad lol. Gonna hot back and then ice them up. not looking forward to the ice. Put the jumping on hold for the PL meet but I think I’ll try to get to the rec center soon and see whats what. Kinda nervous because of my knee issues lately TBH.
Spar4tee- Ummmm I’m not sure really? I’d like to give these a shot for the next 6 weeks till the wedding (damn man its coming up fast!) I think that would be pretty good and then re-asses going into the new year? I think this extra volume will help me shed some BF so that’s good for me. I’d like to get down to a much leaner 205 (holding at 213-214 lately)
scj- LOL. I put stamina in quotations cause I didnt really mean my wind. I meant to condition up my legs for running. I think if I slowly build em up by running a little bit farther ever week that I can get to the point where I can do 3-5 milers with no pain/tightness. I could be wrong though.
Matty- yes, very bodybuildery (i like that term) I’d like to spend the next couple months refining my physique and getting all sliced and diced up. Definitely not trying to do a BB/Physique show or anything… just get to where I’m lookin better than i am now.

Started with WIDE grip pull ups. Put the Lat pull down attachment across the nutral grip pull up station (know what I mean?) and did the widest grip possible on the down angle. All reps were super slow and controlled with legs straight down. So much harder and smokes the lats.
