elmore- Thanks bud. I posted my general training philosophy earlier in my log… on page 3 or 4 I think? I can repost it here if you like… let me know if you cant find it. Pretty much I like to lift heavy, look good and be athletic. I dont see the point of being crazy strong but not looking good and getting winded walking up a hill. I like to play lots of rec sports (basketball, football, volleyball whatever) and like to be in shape. If you lose all your athleticism just for size or numbers then whats the point ya know? thats it in a nutshell :slight_smile:

Matty- Thanks big man. I like to think that I would have got that last rep cleanly as well. I dont really have any idea what my bench will/could be but I’m hoping for 300+ The whole pausing on your chest thing has got me nervous lol Dude, you should totally do a meet. I’m doing it for the competition but I’m already super into it. It definitely has me training harder than before. You always train harder when you’re training for something right?

I’m really loving finishing with a superset. It gets a good sweat and is some cardio for me. Great session today. Felt awesome!

You should make your own dipping belt with some chain and a climbing carabiner. I did that and made a dipping belt for ?10 or so, its weighted to 200kg as well. Much better than the flimsy stuff in your gym trying to kill you!

Hit up the Whole Foods today and picked up 3 dozen cage free eggs for $2.99 a dozen… not too bad. I also picked up 2 loaves of Ezekiel bread. Looking forward to eating more Mounting Doggy ish.

Breakfast Shake

1tbs VCO
1 cup Oats

Lunch
7.5 oz chicken breast cooked in 1/2 tbs VCO, 1/2 cup oats
1 scoop MD Whey

Preworkout
2 scoops MD Whey
3 pieces Ezek bread

Post Workout Dinner
8 oz free range chicken breast cooked with 1/2 tbs VCO. w/ rosemary and garlic for flavor (AMAZING)
2 cups mashed yams w/ cumin (so delish)

probably close to 2 gallons of water throughout the day. I drink a lot of water.

that was my diet today. not sure what it comes down to but thats what I had.

looks solid. Is MD code for Metabolic Drive? If so, that shit it delicious! I have pretty much the same shake for b-fast, but minus the banana, leucine and creating. Good things.

If you stick to eating like this for a few days I bet you notice some huge improvements!

Oh and what are your goals? Recomp, lose fat, etc? Sorry if you already posted, but my reading comp is almost as bad as Bug’s…

harry- yeah the “MD” stands for Metabolic Drive. Its pretty tasty. My goals right now are a bit of a recomp you could say. I’d like to drop a little bit of fat (who wouldnt) but I’m concentrating on trying to keep my strength moving up for this PL Meet in 5 weeks. I’d like to keep adding strength while dropping some BF. Id like to get down to a ripped 205 i think.

Well I like to do the normal things that any face aids patient does… I like riding my motorcycle, playing poker, hitting the gym, cooking, playing basketball, i play QB and Saftey in a full contact adult flag football league every saturday, hanging with friends, spending time with my bro, his wife and my little niece and hitting the beach… the usual

MiM- well upon further review, it is comfirmed… I’m a dummy bird lol. I’m doing regular hyperextensions… not reverse hyperextensions. I always thought reverse hypers were the same thing… idiot! so yeah, i’ve been doing regular hypers where your thighs are on the pad and I hold the 45lb plate on my chest.

Ink- Thanks man. I was really pleased to get 10+ on the squats yesterday. Im really hoping that I’ll hit some big numbers at the meet but I really have no idea man. If I could get 4+ on squat, 3+ on bench and 450+ on DL I think I would be pretty happy?

ok so no gym today but I’m going to go out to the park and get some sprints in. Nothing too crazy… probably fun some 40’s. I’ll let you guys know how it goes.

On another note my fiance went up to seattle this morning to do her first dress fitting and to work on the wedding invites… that means its a guys weekend! So much football is going to be watched.

5 weeks man! Next squat session, wear your sexy singlet under your clothes ala Superman and see how it feels. And for deads, you’re going “beastmode” at the meet, right? Also, you might want to start using a belt when you get over 50% of your 1rm for squats and pulls. It’ll have you get more and more used to it, and you’ll get the most out of it by using it more. Again, just my $0.02.

Ink- I will be attempting to go into as beastly of a mode as possible my friend. I dont know how realistic my goals are but I’m shooting for a 450 squat and a near 500 DL (even though thats 50+ more pounds then I’ve ever pulled lol) I have been wearing my belt for the topset only. The rest of the sets i’ve been hitting them beltless. When my reps are 5 or less and the weight isnt super heavy I feel fine going no belt. I’ll probably rock the singlet for this upcoming week. It’ll be my 1 week of 531 so it’ll be the heaviest so far. I’ll try out the singlet. Thanks for the info

ok so I went to balboa park and hit up some sprints.

40 Yard Dash x 10
and finished with
40 Yard Gasser/Suicide/Lines (200 yards total) x 2

The vid is of 4 of the 40’s and one gasser.

The 40’s werent bad (conditioning wise) but my form is absolutely aweful. I recorded my attempts and then clocked them with my stopwatch based on the video so I know its not that accurate but they were all under 5 seconds so I was glad about that. after watching the vids I was sloppy on the start, standing straight up way too fast and swinging my arms across my chest like a soccer player… ughh (losing lots of momentum)

I need to fix these things and get looser cause that running looked like shit IMO. It was hot and sunny outside so I got some sun. Feeling good, gonna eat another chicken breast and some yams right now. mmmmmm :slight_smile:

I took it off to get some sun but then a highschool girls cross country team came through and were running 400’s. They were staging right next to where I was running and felt weird about hearing some of their comments lolol. So I put my shirt back on.

I know man… my hair is way long. I need an H Cut bad this weekend.

All is good here, trainings going well. I just meant you’ve got some good food choices up in the diet. Just started noticing locations on logs, you and hlss both based in California, so jelly right now, our summer here has been without a week of straight beautiful weather.
