What do you mean by ‘clean’ style? Is that a closer grip? closer stance?
Also, is it me or do you not start your pulls with your ass too low. Is that becuase you have long limbs?

masch - clean style is a pull as if I were going to clean it. same grip, stance and pull - breaking it off the ground by pushing knees back, then hips forward and giving it a good bump.
And I pull with my hips high because I have a strong back and weak legs. Plus long limbs. 32" inseam at 5’6 and a 5’8 wingspan.

I’m confused about why you have to pee so badly when Dling? Are you like my children who need to be reminded to use the potty? Or does a max effort DL attempt make you have to pee for some reason?

Ha, it was the pressure from the strain. I’d never had that happen before. Of course then again I’d never tried to lock out 215lbs of chain before either.lol

Yep, depends on max dl day…if there isn’t enough pressure to cause me to do so, it’s not a max ! lol I learned the hard way too.

Yes. It happens on max pulls and squats. Especially if you’re 40+ and have had kids. Most of us learn that the hard way, Lil Power!
I love toys like chains and bands. But it’s always hard to know how it will translate to a lift. When DLing with chains, the weight increases as you ascend. But you’re not really holding all the weight unless the entire chain leaves the floor. That said, I think training against increasing tension is hugely beneficial. I believe it was Meat who said that chains are so much better than bands because they don’t lock you into a certain plane of motion. I wish I had chains at my disposal.
