Bobbi's Got a Brand New Bag

Thanks Kalle. I’ve got a plan in place but I’ll read up on that anyway.

Video is up now http://bobbiskai.blogspot.com/2011/01/san-diego-powerlifting-de-lower-week-9.html

In other news. The bone is back out so I’m going to have to suck it up and go see a specialist. Rarrgarrble

merde. merde. merde.

Eh, it doesn’t hurt. I’ve already been lifting on it for 6 weeks. Speed upper tomorrow. Might as well do the workout until I can get in to see someone.

damn did it just come out on it’s own or how does that happen?? can you tell from looking at it? we need pics if so. =+)

That 245 grind up was awesome!

Sorry to hear about the hand…

gnarly. thanks!

yea, thanks…but I actually could see that happening on band pushdowns…my hands always get “crushed” doing those and you having a predisposition to displacement, it makes sense to me. Now get it fixed !

Let me know if you learn to love squatting after 21 days…I may need to try that. And your hand is gross.

Aw. It’s not so bad.

Lower workout and video of hip extensions 255x5 with pause http://bobbiskai.blogspot.com/2011/01/san-diego-powerlifting-bonus-lift-week_16.html

You, my dear, have a beautiful smile.

Question on ROM – I am always striving on these to get the plates as low to the ground as I can, then up as far as I can reach. You seem to be working more on the hip extension upper-part of the movement with the pauses. Discuss.

Forget the smile, look at the FB pic! ;D

My question is how on earth do you get that much weight on your hips? I have the hardest time doing the thrusts with a lot of weight, mainly because I feel like a morong (and it takes forever) to get it up ;(

Thank ya ma’am. The ROM is based on the length of my legs and getting my back up on the bench. I have to get the weight set on my hips and then press myself up onto the bench so when I do that the weight is in the air even at the bottom. I want my knees to be at 90 degrees or so when my hips are flat at the top so that’s the distance I set my feet. When my back is up on the bench I can’t get the weight lower without bringing in my feet which would mean that my knees would be more acute angle than 90 at the top. I hope that makes sense…

And yes. I’m looking for max hip extension power. This is a fairly light weight. If I bridge off the ground I’ll do 3 plates or 3 and a quarter.

Do you mean dealing with the pressure of the weight? I use the pussy pad that you sometimes see on the squat bar and it dampens the pressure. I’m still going to bruise up and be a bit sore the next day though.

If you’re having trouble with these, have you tried glute bridges instead?

I already use the pussy pad, I was just wondering how you got into position. If you start with the loaded barbell on the floor, get your hips underneath and then get on the bench.

I just always thought that there was an easier way to do that exercise. Sometimes I use the power rack so I don’t have to start from the floor, but eh.

badass weight and lovely smile - a killer comber

Thanks nlmain. Yea nikki you’re going to have to dip yourself up onto the bench. If it’s too awkward, like I said, try bridges off the flooor.

I JUST CHIPPED MY DAMN TOOTH!!

well what’d you go and do that for? you moved OUT of Ohio!

hey, now you can get a grill!
