Bah! I literally just slammed my fists on my desk and shouted BASTARD when I saw that. C came running in thinking I’d fallen out of my chair. You’ve been one-upping me all week broski! These are some shinanigans.
when i read yours i just thought “damn i shoulda gone for 265” lol
All three videos including the 245 PR are up on the log post http://bobbiskai.blogspot.com/2011/01/san-diego-powerlifting-me-lower-week-9.html
way to eek that one out. worked for it! love it.
Yea it was a grinder fo sho. I like those reps that take 5-6 seconds every once in a while. The weird part is that the whole thing was not in optimal conditions. I was dehydrated and exhausted. Just laying on a bench covering my eyes between sets and trying to drink 2 bottles of powerade, the belt was pinching weird AND I was wearing those huge pants that are terrible for deadlifting so I was pulling quite a few inches out from my legs. Now I want to know what would’ve gone up if I had been wearing something appropriate and NOT feeling like death.
That’s how it goes though. When you feel great you miss something easy and when you feel like crap you PR. Ah, powerlifting…lol
Finally got the dislocated bones in my hand and wrist reset (been out 6 weeks, could’ve been the reason my bench stalled) and now I’m wearing a cool little custom brace he came over and made for me. Said no distraction of the carpal bones so that means no holding heavy stuff. I’ll basically be squatting every day for 3 weeks so yey! Year of the Leg!
Sorry about the hand. But your poor legs. 21 days of squats sounds punishing.

They say it takes 21 days to make a habit, so hopefully I’ll enjoy squatting by the end of it!
First time maxing out ATG squats with perfect form. http://bobbiskai.blogspot.com/2011/01/san-diego-powerlifting-de-lower-week-9.html
I am “assuming” SSq means Safety Squat bar? Yes, if so, it’s harder, need to keep the back arched hard.
Good work arounds for the injured hand, hope it heals fast.

Yea safety bar. And thankfully I heal like wolverine so don’t be surprised if I come back stronger! lol
resetting the bones sounds painful. Hope everything heals perfectly for you.
And 3 weeks of squatting sounds exactly like what I need. Year of the Leg! ![]()
I’ll have to come back later for the vid. seems its not showing up…
Training looks good Bobbi, Have you heard of the super squats program? If all you can do is squat for the next 21 days some version of that could work.
It looks like you already got a plan though.
