Thanks but I had a total shit day at the gym so yey for missing lifts! http://bobbiskai.blogspot.com/2010/12/san-diego-powerlifting-me-bench-week-6.html
I’d say we all get those nasty days but you don’t sound like you wanna hear it. ![]()
I’d take that bench day. What’s your best there?

135 over a year ago but I got really bad tendonitis in both shoulders and elbows so I took 6 months off heavy to let everything heal up and my maxes took a big hit. Recently I’ve been doing 115 like cake but I keep getting out of the groove with 125. It isn’t a strength issue, just a mental, stupidness, over think it, try to change in the middle of the rep issue. I was just really annoyed because I haven’t done it for a month and I won’t do it again for another month.

Last lift before forced time off because of Christmas. 4 days of trying not to get fat. Whoop.
I do hate it how gyms close down over Christmas. I just think of the bars all lonely wishing someone would play with them. Sounds like a cool gym ![]()
Woop woop! Keep killing beyatch!! Can’t wait to see what you’re gonna bring in the new year!
Just dropping by to say enjoy the eats and Happy Holidays!
xx
Enjoy the little bit of down time…the weights will still be there.
Happy Holidays!
Bobbi, I hope you are having a fabulous holiday!
My resistance to holiday cookies is low right now. Perhaps you are doing better? My gym opens again tomorrow and I can’t wait.

That’s an awesome bench. Sounds like you’ll be hitting that (and more) again in no time.
Thanks. Now that it’s my bodyweight I better hit it (135) soon. Last time I weighed in the high 120s. But this is a totally different benching style. I could put my elbows wide and pop 125 off my chest right now but I’m practicing all benches as I would in competition. So everything is elbows tucked, letting the bar settle and pause and obviously that’s a hell of a lot harder. I’m confident I’ll get it in January.
How I’ll be cutting the fat I put on this holiday season. http://bobbiskai.blogspot.com/2010/12/cardio-lift-legs-and-abs.html
You’re getting stronger and BTW you look really tiny in your videos. Why not hold on to the weight for a few weeks or months until the prs slow down or it comes off on its own?
yeah, where do you put that holiday fat I’ve never seen it…
anyways, i know it doesn’t matter what we say, and you’ll do whatever you want if it makes you feel better and healthier. i’m with you though - i did go a leeetle bit overboard this year, so I understand wanting to lean out some.
I’m employing a similar method, i love high rep shit!
reading the blog, really interested in high rep volume, 1-not interferring with powerlifting goals, 2-burning the fat…I’m on 3 days of hiit and 1 day of mod intensity cardio now…but I don’t hate it…except it’s fasted cardio most days…that’s not fun.
NC - and the way I STAY tiny is by watching when I get too fat and cutting ![]()
I have a body fat % / waist measurement range that I keep myself in: 11-17% or 26-28". If I start popping over the high end it’s time to tighten things up. Since I come from a bodybuilding background I will always have the perspective of a bodybuilder when it comes to physique. Plus, I have to stay trim for my work.
Masch - high rep is awesome. What kind of rep ranges are you working?
Vikki - HIIT is good if you can do it. I always push myself to the point of yacking whenever I do intense cardio so no thanks to that 3-4x/week. Are you doing sprinting HIIT and if so, how are your knees taking it?
What a little time off can do for you DE bench day - http://bobbiskai.blogspot.com/2010/12/san-diego-powerlifting-log-de-bench_27.html
I didn’t realize you had that BB background. Very cool. You probably have addressed this, so I apologize, but have you competed in powerlifting and/or do you have plans to do so?
I wouldn’t mind competing in the future but when I do I’ll be in it to win it so it will be a while. My squat is lagging the farthest. One of my lifting partners wants me to do a DL only meet with him and I said I would when I pull 260. I’m also considering a figure or bb show in the fall but I need more hammies. This is the year of the leg so we’ll see how they come along.
