In my mind, pushing through when gravity is unusually strong yields double gains. You just have to wait for them.

4 hours!?! was it because they were all scrambled and not able to help you? NOW i’d be pissed and not in a good training mindset.

i have a love hate relationship with the idea of training with a crew. i’m antisocial to begin with, but having to depend on help with stuff form others makes me crazy…but you’re getting a lot of good help,and will definitely benefit from it.

^ feeling the same way Brute so I decided to balance it out. Once a week I’ll drive to the crew and the 3-4 other gym days I’ll just go accross the street to my little cardio den.

Brute - I’m very much happy by myself but I enjoy lifting with a group of guys. Key word being ‘guys’. If another female showed up it might be different. Women are sensitive in a way where I am buying books and trying to read about how to interact with them because I always wind up upsetting them. Guys don’t get passive aggressive and hold grudges for months without my knowing it. haha

On the team aspect, I’ve only been lifting with them a few weeks but it’s good. They spot and cue and encourage me to do more than I think I can - all things you don’t have solo. You could always do like frenchie and split time too…

My first unassisted chin-up (not that I’m touchy about that, at all).

I get what you mean about women. I tend to find girls who are used to hanging with guys can be much better with avoiding all that passive aggressive grudge holding bullshit, though. Glad you are enjoying training with others. I like a blend of by myself and others, too. Don’t spy many women training. Glad to have found you guys (it isn’t just that I’m weak compared to the guys - its more that I’m just weak lol). Good to know. I will do weighted pull-ups one day dammit.

Oh you will for sure. I remember when I couldn’t do any. I spent a lot of time on the assist machine. Whatever I could do 3 reps and I’d do as many as I could, then I’d go over to the bar and use a chair to get above the bar and hold myself there as long as I could. Then I was doing jump pullups where I’d jump to get going and then pull the rest of the way. And once you get the first real one you’re golden. It takes no time after that to get to 5 and add weight or whatever you want to do with it. One day you’ll look back and probably be giving someone else advice on getting their first pullup! haha
