Bloodwork: Low Test, Low Estrogen

In regards to the metformin? Her instructions were to try it out. If it doesnt alleviate the symptoms of reactive hypoglycemia then discontinue use. I took my first dose last night with dinner. Jury is still out but I should have a pretty good idea within the next 2 weeks or so.

I dont know if its related or not but the morning after I took my first dose of metformin I woke up with severe pain in my right shoulder. Cant lift my right arm over my head. I’m probably gonna be shut down on lifting if this doesnt resolve soon.

I just can’t see the connection for the metformin. I’ve been on it for probably a year now with no issues. What have you been doing gym wise?

Did you sleep on that side? Maybe rotator cuff impingement?

Think back to your last few weeks of gym training.

I stretched the hell out of my shoulder tendons doing dips TOO far. I would hold the rep at contraction for a pause.

Well, after a few months of these way-too-far stretch/pauses, my shoulders are shot. I believe I have tendonitis in both shoulders now. Can’t hit chest or shoulders. AND, they KILL to sleep on.

I would try to focus on how you caused them pain (gym wise) and take that exercise(s) out for a month or so.

I’m 27 years into the gym and have NEVER had this long of a nagging injury. Granted, I’ve been a fool and continued to work through the pain. Now, I’m just cutting chest and shoulders from my workouts. I HAVE to. They’re not getting better. And you know how hard this is (mentally).

I have no reason to believe its related to training. Could be but I didnt do anything unusual. I have only been performing joint friendly excercises for years. Idk. This sucks though

I fuck myself up in my sleep all the time.

I’m thinking I keep aggravating my tennis elbow in my sleep. Will go to bed fine and wake up with it painful to move my arm, without doing anything the day prior that I think would bother it.

I do this too…and its just from moving my arm up under my pillow. Its an ulna nerve impingement. Been an issue for weeks now. I bought a massage gun and do nerve flossing exercises but it still continues to flare up. I even took a week off of the gym.

Do you use voodoo floss for that? I have thought about getting some of that stuff but wasn’t sure how effective it was. I believe you can use it for blood occlusion training which I have also wanted to try.

Nope…just specific stretching exercises

I’m out of town right now. Working in Ohio. I’m gonna try and ice down my shoulder at the hotel tonight

Based on Physio recommendation I have been taking Metformin at 500 mg morning and nite for the last 3 years. I have notices no decrease in muscle growth. In fact I have never looked better in my life.

That’s great to hear. I have continued the Metformin and as of yesterday my shoulder is starting to feel better. It actually felt good enough yesterday I went by a gym here in Ohio and hit a quick little workout. I took it really easy but didnt feel any pain. Hopefully that has resolved itself.

I take metformin for month and a half, Im very happy with it it did wonders to my apetite. But the first 3 weeks I felt terribld

How did metformin effect your appetite? How much are y’all taking on a daily basis? In what way did Metformin make you feel terrible?

First 3 weeks it made me feel very sleepy and weak. I wanted to quit it at least 5 times and I skipped it for 3 days when my symptoms got worse. I was taking 500mg XR. At end of week 3 I noticed these symptoms have weakened. Also I noticed I have control over my apetite. No more I was hungry any time I see food. Before this was uncontrollable. When I see something sweet it costed me a lot of will power to skip it. Now its not. I can maintain now caloric deficit and drop weight because of metformin. Now I take 1000mg XR at dinner and 1000mcg B12 sublingual.

I’m 5 days in to Metformin. I’m assuming these joint issues were a fluke and just an impinged nerve or something. It is getting better every day. Worse in the morning. Can barely feel anything right now. Outside of that I havent noticed anything else. I’m ready to do a freaking blast dang it. Probably gonna wait a little longer though. Still might grab some propionate and try that for trt.

Metformin is an interesting drug, but all research and data shows it can do only good things for you even long term. Just dont forget to take B12 with it. I would also suggest you take XR, otherwise you need to time it with your meals.

I can say some other interesting fact about metformin 2 - of the best hormonal US doctors, who have extensive experience in the field take it themselves. They are not insuline resistant, both of them have impressive muscle mass and below 10 percent body fat. I guess you know this medication is not patented and no doctor has any profit to promote it. The most expensive version in my country costs 7 dollars
