Blaze-Better Dead than Average
pbclax1 wrote:
Awesome man. So you usually go M->F lifting then weekends off?

Thanks alot!!
Yeah, that’s what I’m doing right now. When I was front squatting, I would squat a 2nd time on saturday, but now that I’m back squatting heavy again my quads can’t handle 2x a week.

Back and Biceps

Took videos of myself lifting for the first time today. Did not know youtube takes forever to upload them though. lol. Got a little video crazy. From now on I’ll only film top sets probably. In the videos, the red plates are 25kg, so 1 per side is 155, 2 is 265, and 3 is 375.

Shoulder width grip pullups
bw+12.5x8
bw+22.5x8
bw+27.5x8
bw+32.5x8 PR Only added 2.5lbs this week and these still were pretty hard

Seated Cable Rows
260x10
270x10
stopped here. Wasn’t getting a good feeling out of them. I think I might drop the weight back down and work back up with better form.

Pendlay Rows
185x10
195x10

205x10 +10lb PR

Deadlifts -decided to go for 405 again after failing it 3 weeks ago.
265x5
315x4
365x3

385x1PR

405x1 PR

415x1 PR

Considered going for more but didn’t want to be greedy, I was only going for 405 initially and my form on 415 wasn’t great, so I’ll take it.

DB Curls
45’sx6
50’sx6
55’sx6

BB Curls (2+ second negative)
90x6
90x6
90x6

Weighed in at 186 today. I’ve been really bad about getting all my food in the past week. Still hitting PRs though, so I’m still happy. lol.

Man those pulls looked easy! I’d try taking off your shoes and pulling barefoot. By the looks of the shoes you were wearing, they probably have a soft sole. Eliminating that will help with the whole energy transfer from the floor to your feet.

Haha they looked easier than they felt. I think I might be good for 425 though. I need to deadlift barefoot. Every time I tell myself I’m going to, but then by the time I get started I completely forget. I just need to pay up and get some wrestling shoes or some chuck taylors to lift in eventually.

If I was in your gym, I’ll work out next to you the whole time <3

Those are a lot of PRs, congrats.
Do the collars weigh anything? They’re pretty big, you’d think they added 2.5-5 pounds.

I guess they always look easier than they feell haha. I’m loving my chucks, so you can’t go wrong with a pair. As for wrestling shoes, I wouldn’t know.

Chest/Triceps

Incline Db bench
75’sx8
80’sx8
85’sx8

Flat BB Bench
185x5
190x5
195x5
200x5
205x5 PR
Decided to go for a one pop, Tyler (lifting partner) said to go big and try for 245…
245x1 PR It was a grinder about 8 inches off the chest, but I got it up w/o help. Awesome.

Skullovers
35’sx8
35’sx8
35’sx8 (first time getting all reps, last set will be 40’s next week)

DC style Chest stretch on incline bench
40’sx35 seconds (actually watched the clock this time) felt amazing.

If you were in my gym, I’d let you. <3 haha.

Thanks! The collars might be 1-2lbs each. They’re made of hard plastic. Maybe my PR was really 418lbs haha. Just gonna keep saying 415 though.

Yeah, I just need to buy some. Being a jobless college student, cash flow is limited, however. lol. Looking into getting a job somewhere soon.

I hear you on being a jobless college student. I managed to make something good out of my ochem lab. Tutoring a poor hopeless soul for the cash lol.

245? Really? You are catching up way too fast. Not. Cool.

I’m probably going to go to bike school and get my motorcycle license over the summer, still considering if I’m going to get a motorcycle or not.
Bikes are sick! What kind are you thinking of getting? I love my Ducati but might sell it soon-ish and get a harley.

Damn man you’re still a PR machine. Those DL’s looked solid and your PRed on bench too? you’re beasting in this log.

Hmm. not sure yet. I’m hoping to get my license, ride a couple different types, and decide from there. Likely a crotch rocket or maybe a crotch rocket without all the plastic (not sure what they’re called).

Thanks man! Finally have everything dialed in for once. Just gotta keep this momentum going as I climb Swole mountain. hahahah.

Tyler has some mean-lookin traps.

Lookin good, training looks solid. 'grats on the DL PR.

Bug?
Heh heh.

I tease. People who are 5 feet tall don’t intentionally pick fights… all the time.

Congrats on your bench PRs Blaze

Chuck taylors ftw! I need a new pair, mine have taken a beating lol. Nice PRs in here man!

Ok, so I need to switch up my lifting days a little. Probably going to do shoulders on wednesday, and legs on thursday. I’ll have a slight tricep overlap, but it’s acceptable. My back was still sore coming into back squats, which is bad, so i want to give it an extra recovery day.

The 255x3 was because Tyler decided to push in on my lower back to try to help me keep my arch. I didn’t know he was going to do this, and it didn’t feel good/suprised me and I ended up folding over forward. As you can see in the videos, I bend forward slightly on each rep. I’m hoping having a fresher lower back will help with this.

All in all though, happy with the day’s work. Legs are dead. Off to a 2 hour physics lecture…

Thanks bug! Yeah Tyler is pretty big. It’s nice having lifting partners with more experience/size than you though for motivation/information.

Damn dude, that 415 didn’t look too hard at all, guess I’ll have to make good old DL’s my go to move nex ME lower day, see where I’m at. Kicking ass in here man, definitly.

Greg, you got a Ducati?? What kind? If you sell it and get a fucking Harley, I swear to god you’re going to be banned from my log. Don’t fucking do it.

Edit: Just saw your sqauts now, look good man. You should try making bigger jumps instead of just going up 10#s for sets of 3. Your 315 looked easy as shit too man, I’m jelly

Awesome-ness with the leg workout Amor.

And you did legs with me today

Thanks man! I think I’ve made more progress in the past two months than I did in the whole previous year or two. What are you saying? I should do heavy triples with bigger jumps?

Right now i’m just trying to keep the overall volume high during my workouts. I think I’m gonna keep going with 5x5, adding 5 to 10lbs a week for as long as I can. The 315 may have looked easy, but it didn’t feel easy. I had done 6 sets before that heavy single. Fresh, I feel like I could hit it for 3-5 reps probably.
Nikki9591 wrote:

Thanks love.

Unfortunately, I think legs are going to be on thursdays from now on to give my back time to recover. :frowning:

I do a 3 days on, 1 day off split so there’s still a chance I can catch up with ya one day <3

Strong squatting, but… get those knees out!

Well if volume is what you’re after, you’re doing it right. I’m saying when you go for heavier singles, take bigger jumps on your way up. Strong squatting man, you’re killing it. Keep it up
