Blaze-Better Dead than Average

Woah, tonne of volume. Don’t know how you manage to keep the intensity up for such long workouts, scary stuff!
The cambered squat bar sounds interesting. I’d love to try one out, but my campus gym doesn’t even have bars with proper knurling on them let alone specialty bars…

I agree wit P on this one, that a sick amount of volume dude.

Like Dan John says “High reps at High weight!”

monster session Blaze. Squats, Delts and Bi’s? Thats a lot of work for one day. I’d be smoked.

Nice looking session. Strength is creeping up there sir!

BLAAAAAAAAAAAZE. Your log title throws me. I’d rather be average than dead. Good thing your not average.

Haha. I actually feel like my workout energy has more to do with my energy coming in than how much I do. The accessory work, while long, doesn’t really tire me out. Sorry to hear about your gym’s bars. The cambered bar is the only specialty bar our gym has, and this is the first time i’ve seen anyone use it, lol.

Haha. Thanks man. I do what I can.

Thanks greg! It was a long session for sure, but I didn’t want to slack on my work. It’s just been a major pain to get in six days a week with working a double on almost every friday. (more on that ata the end)

Thanks bug! Appreciate it. Just tryna be secksi like you.

Dash! I wouldn’t. Mediocrity would not be fun. Thanks!
As Arnold said,
“The worst thing I can be is the same as everybody else. I hate that.”

So, what with lack of time and all, i’m switching up my split again. Not being able to work out friday has made me slack on my hamstring work, which is something I need to bring up.

Split is gonna look something like this:
Mon: Chest/Biceps
Tues: Legs
Wed: Shoulders/Triceps
Thurs: Back
Fri/Sat(work depending): Biceps/Triceps

I really like training chest and back twice a week, but:
a) Chest hasn’t grown faster than it did on a 1x a week split, if anything it’s slowed.
b) Back is my bodypart that needs the least work at the moment
c) I just don’t have the time to hit 6x a week right now. 5x is still pretty decent.
d) the bodypart I need to bring up most is my arms, which will still get 2x a week.

I’ve never trained triceps and shoulders or chest and biceps together, I’m looking forward to seeing how it goes.

Lower back seemed decently ok during these.

Leg ext.-quads said no on going heavy, but I figured that I needed to still do some sets to get them used to the extra stress that I apparently get from squatting w/ a cambered bar.

Actual leg press is broken, I’ll probably go to that once it’s fixed.

Good day overall. Legs were cashed. I’m tired.

You tried that lever belt yet? I’m anxiously awaiting mine in the mail.

You’ll love it!

Blaze, killing it in here man, killing it.

You only bench 270? That less than half your bw…I’m disappointed

I need a new role model

Hey there big guy…

How is school going? Mid terms are hitting me hard.

Yeah, I’ve used it squatting twice. Liked it so far, though I might need to tighten it a little. It’s only left red rashes on me once. haha.

Whoa whoa whoa.

  1. where did I say I bench 270?
  2. When did I start weighing >540lbs?
  3. I’m your role model? awwww

I know, right?

[quote]elmore18 wrote:

School is going alright for now. A’s or B’s in all my classes except one, which i might be failing. lol. Apparently the teacher was merciless on partial credit on the midterm exam, I made lots of stupid small mistakes, and I walked out with a 40%. ouch. I’m hoping that by putting my nose to the grindstone I can pull it up to make a low C, but it’s iffy at this point. We just cover so much material in these engineering courses, exams will be over 4-5 chapters of super complicated formulas that you’re expected to know.

Looking forward to Delts/Tris tonight, gonna try hitting some CGBP and smith pressing to start.

Song of the day:

Hello.

I’m alone and afraid

Oh I’m sorry wrong log

I thought this was super blaze 216

Dude, one of my midterms kicked my butt too. Luckily the professor is giving us points back during discussion though. I can’t imagine how much it must suck for you being in Calculus 4 and Diffy Qs and junk like that.

I see how it is.

Hah. I wish my teachers did stuff like that. It’s rough for sure. The class is electronic signals and systems (ECE 351). We don’t have to take calc 4, but I had to take 1-3, diff eq, and am in discrete mathematics (logical programming combined with higher mathematics=death).

Great feeling.

Rear Delt on Inc Bench

20’sx15,15,15

Pressdown (dip simulation machine) machine burnout

Great sesh. Everything felt good and hit some solid #'s.

Great training in here. Weights always seem to be increasing, I’m hoping in a year or so me and you will have made pretty big strides…

Thanks man. I’m sure we will have by then!

Back
Lower back was feeling dodgy coming into this sesh already, which wasn’t a good sign.

Yates Rows
225x8
275x8 (lower back wasn’t liking it)
225x15
225x15

DB rows would have only taxed my lower back more, so instead I did…

HS Iso Row
3ppsx6
3p+10psx8
3p+15psx8
3p+20psx8
3p+25psx8 PR

Neutral Grip Pulldowns
220x8
230x5 (about this point my rear delts started to feel really strained)

Deadlifts
225x8
315x4
365x2
Wasn’t feeling it today. Lower back, combined with rear delts, made these feel not good.

Narrow row machine (not the cardio thing)
5x15
light weight, just focused on squeezing back with my lats.

Low Pulley Cable Row (unilateral, rowing upward like a yates row)
somexsome
decent weight, pulled slowly with a squeeze at contraction. Just going for that MMC.

Notes:

Not sure why my lower back was being iffy, might just be the adding back in of straight legs. I’m sure I just have to get used to them again. Really liked the HS iso row, will have to make a hard decision on whether I want to keep it in or do DB rows, or maybe alternate weekly…decisions decisions.

Rear delts being sore from yesterday’s delt work was a definite negative, next week i’m going to just do rear delt work on back day, so that they’re fresh but still get hit.

Working a double each day this weekend, but I should have time to get in my arms sesh on saturday before work.
