Blaze-Better Dead than Average

Just catching up in here and theres lots of good things happening in here.

a rep PR on that 225 squat and then you got it again right after in your next set? Siiiiiick

That deadlift PR was pretty BA as well. Keep it up man.

you been playing any online lately? I havent played in forever but my buddy was telling me about a new game that he said was awesome. Cant remember whats its called though lulz

Nice DL PR. I also count the pull-ups as a PR, no question about it.

Oh and we both did DLs yesterday <3
And got PRs <3 <3

that 4th rep was so close!

nice work Blaze. and of course more Pr’s. I’m starting to expect them in this log

Awesome PR, especially for having done back work beforehand.

Thanks man! I honestly hadn’t tried going higher rep on squat in a long time so I wasn’t sure what I could do.

On the deads, I’ve been stuck at 375x4 for a while now as my PR, so i was glad to get past that. Determined to get the full 4 reps next week though.

I really haven’t played online in quite a while, I bought a new live 12 months in feb, and don’t think I’ve even played 5 times since then.

of course we both did the same thing.

Ha yeah, it was a little frustrating having my grip failing and being so close to lockout. Oh well, I can get it later. Haha. I’m not sure if being expected to hit PRs is completely a good thing, but thanks lol. I’ll try not to let anyone down.

[quote]AquaCruzer wrote:

Thanks man! My deadlifts are pretty much always done after my other back work though. I like the deadlift and feel that it’s an important lift, but having a tired lower back would limit me on a lot of upper back exercises (Pendlays, seated rows, etc), so I let those lifts take priority. I feel like doing deadlifts first could majorly lower my other lifts, whereas doing deadlifts last only slightly lowers my deadlift numbers.

Triceps are still sore today and I have to do chest/tri. Gonna be interesting. lol. Probs gonna be another late session tonight, so I’ll post my workout probably in about 10 hours.

120 pound BB curls for reps. Squat and DL PRs. All kinds of progress going on over here!

Weighted pull-ups.

Keep it up Blaze!

Haha leg raise on the C. Chair. I was calling them Hanging Leg Raises and everyone was all “Wow! You are the bomb” until I realized that some people are actually hanging. Very funny!

ahahaha me too! I’ve been using the live account for watching netflix and hulu through the xbox but thats about it.

Dang man 120? I dont think I can even do 120. Thats awesome

Oh shit, you’re almost putting the 45s on the bar for curling.

Which permits you to curl in the squat rack

 Thanks! Haha yeah Captains chairs are a fair amount easier than hanging leg raises.

Haha solid.

I bet you could. I’m probably gonna up the weight slowly, then drop it and really make my form as tight as possible. (When I curl 135 for the first time, I want it to be perfectly clean haha).

Haha I’m looking forward to that. I might even take a vid when I do it for the first time. lol.

Hi Shuga! <3

Look forward to squatting with you tomorrow =D

5-18-11

Chest/Tris

Incline DBs
75’sx8
80’sx8
85’sx8
85’sx7 (still lower than before the deload, but up one rep from last week)

Flat BB
185x5
190x5
195x4
195x3 (+2 forced)
195x4 (+1 forced)
This is frustrating. Shoulder actually felt decent today, but I was just really weak here. Not happy with this lift.

Skullovers
35’sx8
40’sx8
45’sx8 PR These felt good today.

Incline Flies
40’sx10
40’sx10
45’sx10 (little bit sloppy on form)

Incline Skulls
65x12
75x12
85x7 (took less rest than I should have) First time doing these, they really hit the long head well.

Fly machine
somexsome

HS incline
somexsome burnout

Rope pressdowns (full spread at the bottom)
80x10
80x10
80x10

Pretty good pump today overall. If i can just get my flat bench up to where it was and get it moving up again, I’ll be a happy camper. Don’t know how one week of bad nutrition and deload hurt my pressing so badly.

Hey <3
I’m actually a day behind because I didn’t lift yesterday (ended up taking care of a friend with strep last night), but I’ll switch legs and shoulders and squat tomorrow anyway

Try not to fuss too much about your bench. My DL has been a bitch lately. Just keep doing what you’re doing and it will start shooting up. In the grand scheme of things you are make pretty damn good progress, just one lift is being stubborn.

I feel so loved =D

Why’d you get rid of the vid? No!!!
Do you know when he’s dropping his album though? I got mixed dates, one said it’ll come out earlier this week but the “official” date is saying June 21.

I’ve been training to his mixtape Road to Carter 4 for the past 1-2 weeks though. Love it.

Oh yeah, and sorry about the bench. Some days suck more than ever, the stall is merely temporary.

that sucks about the bench man but it happens. Just keep after it and you’ll get it straightened out. Whenever I do Incline before flat my benching really suffers.

The rest of your session looks good man.

Thanks man! I know what you mean, it’s just frustrating when you’ve made solid progress for over a month, take a week off, and lose almost all of it. I’ll get it back, just gotta keep working at it.

I was copying my post for the BOI but accidently pressed post instead of back I guess, so I edited the video out. It’s back now. lol. As far as the date goes, I’m really not sure. I like some of that mixtape. Other songs I’m not as crazy about.

Yeah, I’ll get over it. Just gotta keep after it.

Yeah I’m going to. The thing is, I’ve been doing incline before flat for a while (trying to prioritize upper chest, and I actually feel like it’s been making a noticable difference.) The week before deload I hit 190,195,200,205,210 all for 5, and this week I hit 185,190 for 5, then 195 for 4,3,4. I dropped the weights so I could get all my reps…and still didn’t. Annoying to say the least.

Thanks! Normally I don’t do as many lifts on chest/tri day but I had a lot of spare time. The incline skulls felt really good. My triceps were actually cramping if I straightened my arm out earlier, I don’t think I’ve ever had that happen before.

5-19-11

Legs

Squats
250x5
260x5
270x5
280x5 form was kinda ugly here
290x5 +5lb PR took shoes off and focused on looking up for these, I think those were my problems on previous set. First 3 were really clean, last 2 were still kinda rough.

Leg Ext.
200x10
210x10
215x9 (all 10, but last 3 were partials, calling it 9)
100x20 PR

Hamstring Curls
155x10
165x10
175x10 PR
100x20 PR

Seated Calves
2platesx15 (5 sets)

Straight Leg Deads
155x12
205x12 PR
225x12 PR to be honest, I haven’t gone heavy on these before. I almost fell over after the last 2 sets

All in all, pretty happy to be hitting PRs on squats, was worried they were gonna be problematic after that deload week.

Song of the day: May be a repost, too lazy to check. Something about this song makes me so pumped up.

I’m not crazy about all the songs, but I can listen to the whole thing when training. The beats are nice. And Wayne’s lyrics are getting better with age lol

Aww you had a better leg day than me. Congrats babe.

I dedicate Bow Chicka Wow Wow to you <3

True. Welcome to my hood is probably my favorite song on the mixtape.

Thanks! <3 I was pretty happy with it all in all.

Aww thanks  I don’t think I’ve ever had a song dedicated to me before!
