Skipped deads for today, lettin the hand rest up. Also switching squats from tuesday to monday. I like squattin a whole lot more in the weight room than at my house.
After my meet, ill be switchin up my 5/3/1 days. Itll go like this:
Saturday: MP
Monday: squat
Wednesday: bench
friday: DL
Doin this to take full advantage of the weight room at school ![]()

Attempted a 195, but it landed wrong on my hand and messed it up again.
So, now that I have some time I can comment on how my form was today. I was going pretty damn low, but as soon as I came out of the hole I would lean forward, especially on the last 2 reps. Im gonna try and work on this before the meet. Alot of leg raises, planks and band pulldowns.
Here’s what my training is gonna look like going into the meet.
This week:
Monday- Squat
Tuesday- Rest
Wendnesday- Bench
thursday- Rest
friday- DL
saturday- MP
Next week:
Monday- Squat, work up to opener, GM assistance, lots of abs
Tuesday- Rest
Wendnesday- Work up to bench opener, MP assistance (not to light, not to heavy)
Thursday-rest
Friday- Not even gonna work up to my opener, maybe to a 315 single. (Planning on having a 365 opener)
Then rest until saturday. I wanna be as fresh as possible for this meet. Kinda worried about my squat, might have to change that. Im not sure if I should go into the meet with not squatting for almost 2 weeks.

I thought I felt pretty good going into the workout, but I was wrong. I just had a mindset that I wasn’t going to get a PR (and my thumb is still messed up. Had to use suicide grip on every set). Even my first set of 205 felt heavy…
After the week im gonna take a week off. And after that im gonna take a hard look at my bench form, maybe that’s the problem.

Sprints: Did 13 sets, idr the distance
Last pulling sessiong before the meet. Could have went heavier, but I know I cant get any stronger killing myself 2 weeks before the meet. After the meet im gonna try and get in really good shape and go out for the wrestling team.

Called it a day, MP really set the tone for today. It was tuff and it felt heavy as shit, which didnt make me to happy. Standing is 482384x better than seated, but my garage is do damn low!
Something thats really been fucking with my head the last few days is my depth on squat. Ive filmed a good 10 squat workouts, all from the side, never from the front. My form looked good, and I was hitting depth. But, the other day when I was dicking around with some bodyweight squats and a mirror, it looked like I wasnt hitting anywhere near depth.
Maybe im ovethinking this, I know when I have weight on my back I can get pretty low, I just dont wanna go into this meet and end up bombing because I cant hit my opener (335).
Ill post some videos tomorrow, as I will be working up to my opener. This time ill film it from the front.

For depth film from the side and remember for USAPL try to error on the side of too deep. Just keep stretching prior to the meet and
Pick an opener you can take deep and easily come back up with.
