8-3-09
Bench:
barx2x10
175x3
205x3
wrist wraps
235x5-
ALMOST had 6, was very close and just gave up. I fucking hate benching…
Close-ish pin press:
(bar at chest)
135x10
185x8
205x8
215x5
Inverted rows: 3x12
DB rows: 70x2x15

I got the wrist wraps, and thought they would make a diffrence, but they didnt, I also got amonia caps. I got so pumped up I had a shitty setup, basically flat backed the set. The first 4 reps flew up, couldnt even feel the weight, then I hit 5, and lost my focus and gave up on 6. I wanted 8 so badly. Please god, tell me what I need to do to get my bench up.
I WILL PR on squats tomorrow.
good benching, good luck on squats man.
If you want to try a 6 week experiment . . . the peaking cycle that Verkhoshansky designed could be what you are looking for. It is detailed in the article “From Russia with Love” by Charles Staley. You might be able to run that cycle a few times in a fairly short span. If you are interested I will dig up some more information on it. But certainly finish up your current cycle and retest your max when rested before changing much of anything.
