Hey I know this is kind of late, but I just got caught up on the log can you shoot me a PM on shitloading just for shits and giggles? I kind of work my diet like how you were saying back on page 5 involving being in a caloric deficit most of the week and then days like today I eat near 7k calories. Just wanted to see how shitloading works in comparison to this. Thanks in advance, and Iām liking the new routine so far.
I have a few opinions on this method but theyre just my opinions
it really depends on how much calories you need to be in a deficit and how many calories you ate in that week before the 7k cal shitload.
Do i think shitloading is bad? Deffinitely not, one day with bad foods a week is totally fine as long as you still have a weekly deficit at the end of the week or as long as you can make up for it if its 2 much
this is what i mean basically:
if your deficit is 3000 calories and you eat 3000 6 days in a week then on the 7th if you shitload 7 thousand calories then its going to cause some damage
however if you deficit is 3000 calories and you eat 2300 for 6 days then the 7th day you will have room to have a high calorie shitload and it will not negatvely affect you at all
this is how i would do the math to see how much you can afford
3000 (your deficit) x 7 (days a week) = 21000 calories - so to be in a weekly deficit you have 21000 calories in a week
now going with that hypothetical number if you want a 7k cal load on one of the days then you would have to eat (21000-7000/6) your calories for the other 6 days would be 2300 for the other 6
days that week.
I am eating the same number of macros every day now so I cant do these anymore, that plus i hate looking sub-par do to water and bloateing 1-2 days after the load, it messses with my mind too much haha, but if you follow that formula then the loading would deffinitely work
In an older article CT said that sometimes a cheat meal can set you back in progress up to 2 weeks, and in doing the math this is completely accurate lol which is a scary thought i would say
I the best method is to follow the same macros every day because then its extremely easy to keep progress going when it stalls. Also what a lot of guys are doing now is depending on your bodyfat level they are doing a high carb refeed with high carbs mod protein and low to 0 fat, your calories on this day are also a bit higher then maintenance. For me my daily cals now are 2570 and my refeed day will be 2800-3000. You use those refeeds as you need them, im going to do it starting with 1 after every 6 days so next friday will be my first one
Alright, thanks for the information.
Right now Iām basically in a holding pattern waiting for wrestling season where over the week I end up losing 1-2 lbs and over the weekend I put it back on. Came in this weekend at 143.4 and leaving it sunday morning around 144.6. Have to stay at the top of the 145 class. May not be the smartest thing but itās working well considering lifts are still going strong.
And your right, the math can be kind of scary when you think about it but I truly doubt that if your in a 5k surplus for example, that your body will use ALL of that. I would think you would dispose of at least some of it. How much of it though, is impossible to tell.

Yeah its impossible to tell for sure especially when everybodies body is extremely different as well. If your goal is to be in the top of the 145 class then it looks like your doing a good job. I dont know much about wrestling but couldnt u go up to say 155 then do a water cut for 5 hours or so before the weigh in then sauna off the weight to be 145? then then after the weigh in just load on cals until you fight? I dont know if wrestlers do that but a few of my PL friends do that
Similar, but not quite. Iāve cut water before matches, the wrestling version of a game lol, and it often leaves me feeling drained so I prefer dieting down before the season even starts now. Just works better in the end. And in highschool wrestling the weigh-ins and matches are about 30 minutes apart so you can cal load to an extent if you cut water but not to the extent that guys in PL do.

Yeah if i was in your situation i would probably do the same thing was just wondering haha
