Black = Track and Field Advantage?

Unbelievable, I know, but it’s a true story.

Of course, otherwise they get eaten by crocodiles.

Africa is a pretty big diverse continent. The most dominant sprinters are mostly west African. There is definitely some genetic component that makes this so, to deny it would be silly.

Not all black people are of west African descent and (amazingly) not all black people are the same so it is no wonder some people get frustrated by this discussion.

Bullshit. I dare you to find even ONE difference between me and any other black man.
Big, bald, angry and likes watermelon… see you’re all alike.

 I’m putting the smily to make sure everyone knows that I’m J/K.

What about fried chicken? And purple drink?

Re physique, blacks and whites, when matched for SES variables, are virtually identical in average height, however, their physique and body proportions are much different. Blacks have shorter torsos, broader shoulders, smaller ribcages, narrower hips, and longer limbs (with comparative elongation of the distal segments). Fit samples of blacks and whites appear to be about the same weight on average (or perhaps blacks are marginally heavier), but fit blacks have on average less body fat, particularly on their limbs. It follows that blacks have a greater fat free body mass (i.e., bone, muscle and viscera) than whites. The smaller ribcage and narrower pelvis would indicate less viscera weight and indeed, blacks have been found to have substantially more total body musculature and denser, heavier bones than whites. This greater musculature is also distributed differently. Blacks show considerably more musculature in their glutes and thighs than whites, which gives a substantial advantage in locomotion. Blacks have also been shown to have on average greater cross sectional thickness in their limb musculature than whites, with the difference much greater in the proximal than distal limb segments. Naturally higher average testosterone levels and a greater number of testosterone receptors probably contribute to the leaner more heavily muscled physique of blacks compared to whites.

The average physiological differences give blacks a substantial advantage in athleticism.
While all of these things likely mean blacks are generally more athletic and can run faster, it should be noted for the sake of this thread that these same characteristics would indeed make blacks poor swimmers.

genetic traits… white people have fins?
He’s not wrong, but he’s not right. The changes he’s talking about wouldn’t have occurred over such a small span of time.

Here’s a genetic trait in humans that has occurred due to water contact: buoyant breasts.

Ohhhh yeahhhh.

Do you listen to Biggie or Pac?

statistically black people are also worse swimmers than europeans or european-americans. why could that be? its not because more white people have access to pools because none of the white i know have ever had a pool and all know how to swim.yet none of the black i know possess this ability. i think the reason really is just as simple as genetics and traits can be passed down, it doesnt entitle you to be the best at something but it definately gives you an advantage.

I was able to lure a black person into a pool of purple drink once.

I alternate days so that I am more black. Listening to only one makes you a “half and half”.

lets just say that being black is not a track and field disadvantage…

You have a funny accent. But you all look the same. As do all Asians, Indians (both kinds) and Arabs (even if they are Persians).

“Dot” AND “Feathered”?

I’ve actually started bleaching my face so that my credit score can go up. Good idea, bad idea?

Anybody want to speculate why Yugoslavians (or rather those from areas that formerly were part of Yugoslavia) are so good at basketball?

I figure another generation or two of eating the shit that Americans do, no matter what color, we are going to become irrelevant in sports and probably a number of other categories. I mean, I would have NEVER dreamed that in my lifetime any basketball team (other than the former Soviet Union) could beat the USA.

Here’s a list of just the Croatians (or people of Croatian descent) who have been in the NBA (Croatia is a country of 4 million people):

Basketball
John Abramovic - Fmr. NBA player
Andrew Bogut - Australian NBA player of Croatian descent (Drafted 1st Overall 2005)
Dražen Petrovi? - NBA Hall of Famer
Dražen Dalipagi? - NBA Hall of Famer
Krešimir ?osi? - NBA Hall of Famer
Frank Drmic - Australian basketball player
Gordan Giri?ek - NBA player
Vinko Jelovac - basketball player
Željko Jerkov - basketball player
Mario Kasun - NBA player
Toni Kuko? - NBA player (NBA Sixth Man of the Year, 1995-1996 season)
Jack Marin - Fmr. American NBA Star
Kevin McHale - NBA Hall of Famer (Croatian mother)
George Mikan - NBA Hall of Famer
Dražen Petrovi? - NBA Hall of Famer
Zoran Planini? - NBA player
Dino Ra?a - Fmr. NBA player
Dalibor Bagari? - Fmr. NBA player
Steve Stipanovich - Fmr. NBA player, No.2 pick in 1983 NBA Draft
Bruno Å undov - Fmr. NBA player
Žan Tabak - Fmr. NBA player
Rudy Tomjanovich - Fmr. NBA player and coach, No.2 pick in 1970 NBA Draft
Andy Tonkovich - 1948 first NBA pick
Stojko Vrankovi? - Fmr. NBA player
Vedran Vukusic - Fmr. Northwestern Wildcats basketball, Big Ten leading scorer 2005-2006
Uros Slokar - NBA player
Franjo Arapovi? - Fmr. NBA Player

I’d say good idea, as long as you keep all your African-American behaviors suppressed. Try not to pepper your sentences with the words “dawg” or “fo’ sho” and you’ll be fine.

If anyone suspects anything, just say you have a skin condition.

The real problem is going to pop up if they ask me to dance and/or jump. Do I just flail my arms around wildly or actually act like I’m trying?

Also, if they offer me mayonnaise, do I have to eat it?

Oh, and I’m thinking of hiring a little white kid to go to the store with me and throw shit all over the place while I softly remind him to stop over and over with no effect.

Listen to the words, not the beat.

Wow, this question actually has me stumped.

White people are weird.

PX,

Here is a picture of what you should be striving to look like.

Great post, SSC.

Let me take just one instance; the NBA:

The average player in the NBA is “ballin’” (playing top level basketball), by the time he is in Elementary School…and by JUNIOR high, is starting to have College AND Pro Scouts look at him.

Why?

By about 4-5 years of age he is living and breathing basketball, from sun-up to sun-down; and playing ball on some of the toughest, and most unforgiving courts in the World; U.S. inner cities.

Skills are practiced and honed…and practiced again.

If anyone of any race puts the amount of time and effort in any endeavor that the average NBA player has all of his Life, they’ll be good at it too.

Mufasa
Just like in football. Oh, wait, no, it’s not like that at all.

Now I’m really confused. Is the purse optional? And what if my pants won’t roll up that high?

You white folk sure are so-fist-o-kate-ed.

Well, we did have a major civilization, whereas Arabs have always been disbanded nomads. Just sayin

Oh yeah, and I’m pretty sure we invented the grudge.
