Black Teen Shot by Neighborhood Watch

By the power vested in me by the Internet Dwarf Guild, I now proclaim TigerTIme an enemy of the internets, and hereby banish him from T-Nation.

Thank you.

Refreshments will now be served in the cafeteria.

I just listened to some of Zimmerman’s 911 calls (he’s made 46 call since January 2011). In these calls, he CLEARLY has an issue with black teens. Each call had to do with only black teens.

This motherfucker is still free, and still in possession of a gun.

Also, the police sent a narcotics officer to ā€˜investigate’. They barely performed any investigation and didn’t even bother questioning potential witnesses.

I think what Zimmerman did was reprehensible. However, the inaction of the law enforcement is inexcusable and even more offensive in my opinion.

How is this man not arrested yet? I mean, seriously, regardless of what laws have been written, if things like this can happen, I do believe that means it is time to change something.

I do believe this is the point many here were trying to make. The fact that many tried to explain it away as if being black with a hood on or while walking with hands in pockets or on waist made you suspicious is evidence of that.
Before his son’s death, Tracy Martin warned son Trayvon that being a black man in America could be dangerous.
ā€œI’ve always let him know we as African Americans get stereotyped,ā€ Tracy Martin told USA TODAY. ā€œI told him that society is cruel.ā€
Just to expand the topic, I remember years back writing that it would make sense to raise a minority child to understand he will be discriminated against and was told by many posters at that time that this was ā€œwrongā€.
Crump has questioned Sanford police actions after the shooting, noting that police did not run a blood-alcohol test or a background check on Zimmerman, but they ran both on Martin after he died. He said police took Zimmerman’s word without conducting a thorough investigation.
Tracy Martin says he wants Zimmerman arrested and tried in court.
So, what exactly did the cops do when they arrived? Just take a statement, bag the body and leave?

That makes it look likely they let him go BECAUSE he had a previous relationship with the cops.

Nice to see that level of favoritism with a dead kid on the ground.

Do you think I could go shoot somebody tonight and walk home like nothing happened? Just so you know, I’m white.

Your ignorance knows no bounds. If that makes sense to you, it should also make sense for white parents to teach their children to fear black people. After all, every black person you see is MUCH more likely to be a violent criminal than any random white person.

Your way of thinking only perpetuates racism. If you can’t see why you are wrong here you are clearly the biggest racist in this thread.

I don’t know how the Florida law reads, and agree this situation is fucked up and something seems off, at least on the surface.

But as far as duty to retreat/stand your ground/castle doctrine law I think those are good laws.

A real world example: a 50 year man gets in an accident with a car full 25 year olds. The 25 year olds are drunk and proceed to attack the man after the accident. The man, a CCW permit holder, shoots one of the attackers in self defense.

The man is then arrested and charged with a myriad of gun related charges (unlawful discharge, intimidation with a deadly weapon, ect), held in jail for months on end because he can’t make bail - during which time he was evicted from his apartment and lost all his possessions, and then ultimately acquitted of all charges. If the law did not say there was a ā€œduty to retreatā€, the man would have never been charged in the first place.

The attacker he shot was not killed, and in theory the man could then sue in civil court for medical bills he incurred by being shot.

If someone breaks in my house or tries to steal my car, I should not be required to leave and let them take what they want. Stand your ground/castle doctrine is good when written and applied properly.

The KKK has taught you well.

I’m sure your black ā€˜ā€˜friends’’ agree with you and happily tap you on the back when you tell them you see them as inferior, stupid and criminals.

I’m done with replying to your bigoted tedious flapass.

Houston, Utah, Tiger… don’t really care about you guys. But sad knowing that alot of white ppl still think like this. Comments such as racism goes ā€œboth waysā€, referring to person as ā€œwhiteā€ (or ā€œblackā€) is racist, you guys have black friends so know what you’re talking about, have been through a little racist episode, etc. Don’t even wanna get in the IQ stuff.

I haven’t experienced racism really until I started dating this black girl. And I see it happening to her ALL THE TIME. Just a few examples off the top of my head:

 • She is trying on dresses in a store. While she is changing, the sales person forces her to move to a closer booth.

 • Walking in Apple Store. She has security guard 2 inches behind her.

 • Old woman in grocery store staring at her like she is from another planet.

 • Neighbours make no eye contact when she greets them, just stare at the ground.

 • Out in the country, if we go camping or cottage, people giving her that look.
I said it in my previous posts that even my trips to some jewellery stores are hilarious. Security guard and Sales staff are on my back. Everyone else will be ignored. And you know what, when this kind of shit happens, a part of me is dying to shout at them to give me a fucking breather and let me shop in peace. But then I smile and leave. The thousand bucks I planned to spend on that shop, I save it for a charity. Their loss.

What you described above is what many blacks go through in their daily life. Some white people are still in denial regarding this. Brushing it under the carpet is easy. God forbid that we complain about this, we’re seen as far too sensitive!

Just because laws changed doesn’t mean attitudes about race changed. There is just as much racism today as there was in the pre 60s or 70s.

I agree with that. But now that we know this kid was chased and on the phone, how does this equal ā€œstand your groundā€?

I’m confused. If a kid is in danger of being shot for skin color, are you saying it is wrong to inform him that some may think of him that way ahead of time?

Also, how do these stereotypes become so significant as to lead to profiling if kids are NOT being taught to base their judgment of a person on how they look or dress despite cultural differences?

I guess only the brain is off limits by evolution, hmm?
Of course you included that in your fucking racist tirade to hide your blatant bias.

Just like the racist pig that throws slurs after slurs at a black person’s face then taps him on the back, grinning, and says he was only joking. He then he adds this, ā€˜ā€˜hey, you blacks have some awesome athletic genes. That’s awesome!’’

'kay, this time I’m really done with you.

Hmm, just saw this story on TV for the first time today. Apparently the kid was on his phone with his gf as it was happening, and repeatedly asked Zimmerman why he was following him, etc etc…sure seem to throw [even] more suspicion Zimmerman’s way. Glad that they’re protesting this and insisting on a full investigation. How the hell you gonna shoot an unarmed person with no eyewitnesses and not even get taken into custody?

hit the gym, I think it’s a very community-specific thing. My wife is black, and the only ā€œracistā€ type thing I see even somewhat regularly is black dudes apparently telling her she should get with ā€œa real manā€ aka them. They should be glad I’ve never seen/heard this happen in person. She’s told me of this happening multiple times though.

Having said that, I’m based in a military town, being in the Marines; so there is a larger than normal ā€œminorityā€ population in the area. On a somewhat related and interesting (to me) note, I VERY rarely see racism popping up in the military, as compared to civilian life…can’t help but wonder if it’s because of the greater interaction with varying races that tends to occur in the military. Thoughts on this from other people with military background?
I’d been called names by black men too as I hanged out with white men. I remember one time, a guy came up to me and told me angrily, ā€˜ā€˜why you gotta betray us, sista?’’ That ā€˜ā€˜real man’’ talk came up too. And that was in front of that white dude I was fucking at the time. Haha! Crazy.

By the way, congrats on your wedding.

But raising your kid to be aware they are thought of that way so they can be successful and not allow it to hold them back is ā€œwrong and racistā€.

What a corner to be boxed into that you KNOW you will be profiled in some places based on race but preparing your kids for it is ā€œwrongā€. It is better parenting to allow them to be clueless so they casually walk into these circumstances blindfolded.

Shame on the police for covering up for that racist cunt. Editing the 911 tapes before releasing them. Correcting the witness account-- they said it was Trayvon who screamed for help but the police ā€˜ā€˜corrected’’ them-- (tampering of evidence for sure) and, oh yeah, sending Zimmercunt back home to relax. Someone with a history of beating the shit out of a cop. ā€˜ā€˜Let’s just let him go, guys. He’s a saint. He’s a hero. He defended himself against a violent negro.’’

I’ve suspected the 911 tapes were held 'cos Zimmercunt must have been saying some racial slurs. And my suspicions were right. I am pleased more informations are being brought up. Listening to the tapes, you can tell how calm Zimscunt was. He didn’t sound like a scared person. The guy was going for the kill.
