Black Teen Shot 4

I never saw the transcripts of the call to police before, thanks for that.

X-I think the suspicious part is the fact that Trayvon was walking in around in a gated community looking at other people’s houses during a rain. Other then that I don’t think it is suspicious in any way. If I saw a strnger in my gated community doing that I would think he was drunk or on drugs too. I have never lived in a gated community but I assume entrance is controled, and that the watch would be able to recognize most of the citizens who live in the neighborhood. I could be dead wrong though since I grew up in a small rural area. I really do not think this was a racial killing, until the liberal media got involved. I mean they created a new race of humanity just to stoke the racial fires, who had heard of a white hispanic before this case? They also edited the original call to make Zimmerman seem like a racist. I think Zimmerman is like every other person in the world, capable of making mistakes. I wish Trayvon would have lived. In my opinion Trayvon was a kid and he is allowed to make dumb decisions(weed at school, tuff guy pics, talking shit online)none of which should have any bearing on this case. Zimmerman was a grown man with a gun and if you want that responsibility you better be above making mistakes of judgement which get people killed.

Picked up my first wheel gun 3 weeks ago and believe it or not I thought of your No semi auto having azz when I picked it up.

Long live the Ruger GP100
Actually, I carry a G23. I just didn’t understand the lack of consideration for a revolver in that handgun thread.
Well I guess I missed that one… Let’s see… Low amount of pistol ammo, with no temporary channel worth mentioning so you’re reduced to poking tiny holes in people and hope you hit the spinal cord or the brain… An average trigger pull of 3 tons to help you shoot whatever is down and to the side of whatever you’re aiming at… Usually horrible sights…
The reload thing…

Well, you can kill people with a revolver, it’s just… Unless you’re one of the very damn few good revolver shooters out there who practice with the things all day long and have them customized with 2000 dollars worth of crap, why bother if you have other options (talking about HD/CCW of course, not shooting for fun or collecting)?

Hey, if you guys want to discuss this further, the terminal ballistics thread in the combat section is getting lonely.

Gated communities are becoming more common in my part of NJ. There’s one a few blocks from my house. They don’t all have staffed guard booths. You can walk right in.

They do seem to house nosier people and I wouldn’t be surprised if they questioned me if I was walking through there with a hoody in the rain staring at houses and I’m a grown a man. I assume the reason people move into these communities is to be in a more controlled, more secure area where there are less strangers passing through. If you don’t live there, don’t be surprised if someone asks you why you’re there when they don’t recognize you.

You seriously wouldn’t check out a: (1) stranger; (2) wandering around in the rain; (3) with one hand concealed in his pants; (4) looking at houses, (5) in your gated community (5) at night when you’ve had a string of burglaries?

You would?

Would you follow a stranger who you think may be on drugs and you think he has something concealed in his pants?

Or

Would you stay in your car, call 911, then call your other watch people to lock doors and call other neighbors?

Because a shoot out with a drugged up armed crimminal in a gated community may not be the path you want to take. But it should be a concern in your mind to guard your actions.
No, I agree he shouldn’t have gotten out of the car. Zimmerman is a dumb ass.

But X’s question was “What was “suspicious” about this kid other than his skin color?”

Sorry, some dude wandering around in the rain, at night, in a gated community, looking at houses, is pretty suspicious.

I don’t care what color you are. Wandering around in the rain, looking at houses is odd enough to get checked out when you’ve had a string of burglaries.

Normal people don’t voluntarily wander around in the rain at night.*

 • For the record, if I was guessing, I bet Trayvon was wandering around so he could talk freely to the girl on the phone without Daddy listening. Again, a complete guess, based on being a dad and having daughters who would wander out of the house to talk to boys on the cell phone.

There are a lot of Jewish people walking around with their hands in their pockets in long black trench coats on Saturdays. Should I call 911 and follow them around?

He was on the phone. I would assume he was walking around like someone in deep conversation on the phone. Seeing anything more than that is bias based on the person watching.

Again, no crime was being committed. Yet he was identified as a criminal, not simply someone walking around.

Oh, but race has nothing to do with this!!!
WW3General wrote:

I am laughing at this. I do believe MANY OF US have stated that hispanics were listed as white in Texas on most test forms through most of my childhood. It isn’t some new race that was made up. it is the simple fact that hispanics were not separated from white in many states, I would assume especially in the south.

Further, this guy is half white and his dad is white. How the hell is he just “hispanic”?

Better make sure you refer to Obama as our “white black” President of the United States from now on.

Perhaps. Is this unusual in that neighborhood? Have Hasids been breaking into homes?

I am not saying he is hispanic. I am saying that the term white hipanic is bullshit just to make racial tensions worse. Zimmerman should be the one who decides what his label should be if he wants one at all. I am from northern European ancestors, I also have Cherokee in my recent past. I am not called a white/native or a white/indian, or a white/ Cherokee, I am Caucasian or other on most forms. Just like a man who is half black and half white is not a white/ black man or a White/ African. I think it is ridiculous that they created a new term in the media to bring race more fully into this murder. Why was it not just reported that a man killed a teenager? Why would his race matter? It should not matter that is the whole point, a person is dead because of a man’s actions race had nothing to do with it until the media got ahold of it.
Professor X wrote:

Do you mean Zimmerman’s neighborhood? I am not sure how Trayvon’s neighborhood is relevant.

In my home I switch from my G20 to my G21 and I have put the GP100 on the end table on a couple nights because 357 can do the job if someone makes it to my bedroom. But when I leave the house unless Im going to the range the wheel gun stays at home.

And I reply Caucasian or Other becuase the government has set a minimum requirement to meet to claim Native American ancestory. One of the only races which inclusion into is government regulated.
