If Halle Berry and Barack Obama are black, then George Zimmerman is Hispanic.
But…they aren’t black…like we heard from many Republicans before the last election. We were constantly told that he wasn’t fully black.

It seems very selective how that gets used.

The man is half white and could pass for white. Nothing would cause me to think this guy was hispanic especially with a name like “Zimmerman”. I am betting that police department didn’t even know.
His father is white, mother Peruvian. They speak Spanish in the home. Grandmother lives/lived with them and spoke no English whatsoever. I knew this family for 18 years and saw the father twice. If you called them white, they got pissed. None of this really matters, IMO, but if you’re interested in categorizing him based on more than just DNA and his last name, he’s heavily Hispanic.
His father was white. he could pass for white. It doesn’t matter what he got pissed about.

If I can be profiled as “black” then he can be profiled as ‘white’.

The bad thing is…you probably still don’t get it and are ready to write off what I just wrote…
I only offered information and have stated in a prior post that I am reserving judgement until more facts are revealed. Thanks for imputing thoughts and judgements upon me, though.
I only have what you write to go by. If Trayvon was half white, do you think that would have changed a damn thing here?
His father is white, mother Peruvian. Fact

They speak Spanish in the home. Fact

Grandmother lives/lived with them and spoke no English whatsoever. Fact

If you called them white, they got pissed. Observational assessment

Here I only offer something to consider based on your posting “The man is half white and could pass for white. Nothing would cause me to think this guy was hispanic especially with a name like “Zimmerman”. I am betting that police department didn’t even know.”

You haven’t heard GZ speak or interacted with him, so all you have to go on is how he looks in these pictures. I only offered you some insight. Your imputation of judgements and thoughts is inappropriate and inaccurate. I don’t pretend to know what other people are thinking and I don’t appreciate you pretending to know that about me and assigning your assumptions to me.

So I want to be clear that I’m following your line of thought through this process clearly:

Trayvon, because he is black, was correct in his thought process that ‘strange white man’ following him may have been out to hurt him?

If the description in place of ‘white’ in that above thought is changed, does it in any way change this case for you? If it doesn’t, why are we discussing it? If it does, why?
? I made myself clear already. If the GUN was visible AT ALL, it makes perfect sense for Trayvon to fear for his life…ESPECIALLY if he perceived his “attacker” as white simply because there IS a history in this country of blacks being killed for being black by whites.

It was night time, raining, Zimmerman was armed, and there was NO REASON AT ALL for Trayvon to be stopped unless someone was about to do him harm. That is pretty much how most HUMANS would think, let alone a black man in a country with a history like our own.

NONE of these “facts” change how a single man is viewed in public just standing there.

Do you ask all of these questions of every black person you see? If not, then your inability to understand this is simply because you choose not to.

race in America is based on APPEARANCE. Not one racial profile is based on what the individual LIKES.

Here’s a Twitter conversation where Trayvon and his cousin Stephen Martin discuss assaulting a bus driver days before the shooting. Someone also posted on his facebook asking who he had gotten in a fight with.

It was just reported today (March 26) that Trayvon was suspended from school for marijuana. This is consistent with the facebook conversation I posted earlier which suggests Trayvon was a drug dealer.

http://tv.yahoo.com/news/family-pot-linked-trayvon-martin-suspension-170335350.html

It’s becoming clearer by the day that this is exactly the kind of kid who would take offense at being confronted by Zimmerman and then jump him on his way back to the truck.

And Dark Ninja, you are easily the most vile and disgusting character I have ever seen on this board.
Where on his FaceBook does he talk about a fight?
This is why I didn’t even bother responding to that shit. I stated earlier that him being a drug dealer was unfounded. A picture of him, was apparently taken from his facebook, sticking two fingers up (too blurry to identify him). But when you get on his facebook, you can’t even see any of the dodgy shit people are saying Trayvon was up to.
a) the page cannot be found
b) his family confirmed he was actually suspended for a pot-related violation

Cool story, sis.

Suddenly Trayvon’s FB page is down.

Some factual updates:

 1. On Febuary 26, Zimmerman was on his way to the grocery store when he spotted Trayvon walking through his gated community.

 2. Trayvon was visiting his father’s fiancee, who lived there. He had been suspended from school in Miami after being found with an empty marijuana baggie. Miami schools have a zero-tolerance policy for drug possession. He had never been arrested, but had known gang associates.

 3. When Zimmerman first spotted Trayvon, he called police and reported a suspicious person, describing Trayvon as black, acting strangely and perhaps on drugs.

 4. Zimmerman got out of his SUV to follow Trayvon on foot. When a dispatch employee asked Zimmerman if he was following the 17-year-old, Zimmerman said yes. The dispatcher told Zimmerman he did not need to do that.

 5. There is about a one-minute gap during which police say they’re not sure what happened.

 6. Zimmerman told them he lost sight of Trayvon and was walking back to his SUV when Trayvon approached him from the left rear, and they exchanged words.

 7. Trayvon asked Zimmerman if he had a problem. Zimmerman said no and reached for his cell phone, he told police.

 8. Trayvon then said, “Well, you do now” or something similar and punched Zimmerman in the nose.

 9. Zimmerman fell to the ground and Trayvon got on top of him and began slamming his head into the sidewalk, he told police.

 10. Zimmerman began yelling for help.

 11. Several witnesses heard those cries, and there’s been a dispute about from whom they came: Zimmerman or Trayvon. One witness, who has since talked to local television news reporters, told police he saw Zimmerman on the ground with Trayvon on top, pounding him and was unequivocal that it was Zimmerman who was crying for help. Trayvon’s father and others have also agreed that it was not Trayvon calling for help.

 12. Zimmerman then shot Trayvon once in the chest from very close range, according to authorities.

 13. When police arrived less than two minutes later, Zimmerman was bleeding from the nose, had a swollen lip and had bloody lacerations to the back of his head.

++++++++++

That’s self-defense 101.

Points 6-9 are still in contention, and cannot be asserted as facts at this point in the investigation. There needs to be fairness from both sides as to what is displayed as ‘known’ and still to be figured out.

Link(s) to these facts please.

So, now we have to ask ourselves what was it about Trayvon that made his family only want to give the media baby-face pictures of him that are all at least four years old? To take down his FB page, Twitter account, etc?

Is it because of the gold teeth?
The multiple tattoos?
The fact that his Twitter name was “@NO_LIMIT_NIGGA”?
The fact that a lot of his top friends, of whom many feature profiles pictures of themselves flashing gang signs or holding firearms, were posting that they were gonna smoke blunts in his honor?
The references to dealing drugs?
The sloppy and profane writing style?

http://www.wagist.com/2012/dan-linehan/was-trayvon-martin-a-drug-dealer

I don’t think that a 17 year old smoking pot is a big deal or a huge surprise. But his parents definitely got some excellent advice on how to play the game before making their son’s death go viral.

And had Zimmerman not thought he was Wyatt Earp points 6-13 don’t even happen. Carrying a gun may be a right but it also carries with it responsibility. You carry a gun to protect yourself from the unavoidable not to give yourself the courage to engage in behavior that you wouldn’t have done otherwise. Combine that with an attitude about race that leads you to profile and you have what we have here. A normal person who carries a gun does whatever he has to within reason to avoid a situation in which he may end up using it.

Apparently, No Limit Nigga is actually a rap song.

The lyrics will, I’m sure, undoubtedly stand the test of time:

Tell that bitch and that hoe I’m trying to do something
I cracked the optimal open in the middle of the club
Don’t give a fuck about the popos niggas smoke some bud
Let’s go half on a 40 sack show me some love
I stucked a pistol in the club for them wannabe thugs
TRU niggas smoke dank all the way to the bank

I was dropped from the clouds above given a gat and some slugs
Killing whatever bugs that ain’t a soldier does
For the love of drugs half of my paper go to bud

And what not. The beat is about as obnoxious as the lyrics.

While ALL rap music might not glorify crime, drugs and murder, it is pretty clear what Trayvon enjoyed listening to.

None of this has anything to do with him being shot, of course. Again, it’s more of a reflection on the way his parents (understandably) and the media (not so understandably) are presenting Zimm/Martin to the public.
Professor X wrote:

Yeah, you’re such a victim of racial injustice.

Dunno about you, but I remember reading about a war where white people killed white people in no small part to free your people.

I’m not sure that happened in any other country, ever, in the history of the world.

In fact, I know it hasn’t.

Seems like a pretty special country, and I’m an Apache whose fucking land was “stolen” to make said special country.
