Kenny trains with Kevin Kearns and how is John Chaimberg known for getting fighters stronger without getting bigger GSP got bigger. If Kenny wins i cant see him holding the belt Diego, Maynard, Sherk, Griffin, I think can all beat Kenny.
When GSP first started working with Chaimberg he couldn’t even do 10 bodyweight chinups… now he does chins with 120lbs around his waist, and the last time I checked GSP still fights at 170.
this gas thing is getting out of hand, i mean the guys lives for fighting and show and die on cardio on the first round?}(i’m talking about you Mr. Bj and Mr. Shogun!)
I don’t mean to hijack the thread but i predict KenFlo winning by the same way as Liddell is… Shogun and Bj gassing out.

Has your dumb fucking sas ever heard of weight cutting. Shogun had two knee surgeries that would end an NBA players career, cut him some slack.
Learn to spell moron… now go upstairs - I think I hear your Mom calling you for dinner.
OK back to task although I am disappointed with the postponing of Hamil vs Vera. the rest of the card doesn’t look to bad. Silva vs Griffin definately has my interest.
and Sadollah FINALLY. I like the guy but, I’ve been waiting to see what else this kid can do.
Basically the card stands as such:
Lightweight Championship bout: B.J. Penn vs. Kenny Florian
Light Heavyweight bout: Forrest Griffin vs. Thiago Silva
Welterweight bout: Amir Sadollah vs. Johny Hendricks
Middleweight bout: Ricardo Almeida vs. Kendall Grove
Lightweight bout: Josh Neer vs. Kurt Pellegrino
Middleweight bout: Rousimar Palhares vs. Alessio Sakara
Welterweight bout: John Howard vs. Tamdan McCrory
Welterweight bout: Matt Riddle vs. Dan Cramer
Welterweight bout: Danillo Villefort vs. Jesse Lennox
But he only recently announced that, so I figure this will be his last fight at middleweight.
Which makes some sense, even if your used to cutting going from fighting at 185 to 170 is a drop. That’s why Wanderlei is doing the catch weight fight first. A 15-20 lb. cut is a huge difference in fighting.
My guess is big dog is feeling he can take Kendall (even though he’s showing signs of getting back in form) win the purse, make some money and put his full focus to getting down for the welterweights.
People act like BJ’s conditioning sucks as of recent it has looked pretty good Sherk and Joe Daddy, his last fight he flat out didn’t even get a chance to showcase his conditioning. Plus Kenny does all that gay shit with Kevin Kearns, your trainer should not be fat.
Personally I’ve never thought BJ’s conditioning was the issue. I’ve just suspected he didn’t evolve as a fighter.
When you are that talented as an athlete you get one of two stories, extreme success or laziness.
BJ does what works for him and that’s great. He’s improving which is fine. I just think he still relys too much on his amazing talent. which was fine in the beginning.
But if you ever have the chance to sit and talk with Dellagrotte. Who, by the way is very cool people. Trust me, you realize how much the mind set for developing fighters has and is changing.
Can BJ beat KenFlo? Yes.
Can BJ beat GSP? Yes.
Do I think thats going to happen if he doesn’t update his gameplan and/or fight strategy? No
But then again like I’ve posted before I am highly prejudiced toward anybody from Sityodtong. And that goes for both schools East and West Coast.
I dunno, I think his conditioning is an issue, he just managed to dominate Sherk and Joe in such a way that it negated any advantages they would have had there.
We were at Mayhem’s last fight (last weekend) BJ showed up and it looked like he hasn’t been training. A little worrisome given that Kenny has probably been in the gym since he found out he was getting the title shot. But you never know with BJ, that’s probably why he is such an enigmatic fighter to fans.

In all fairness to BJ it’s still April.
But could you imagine what he’d be like if he had a camp like Couture?
With his talent he’d be a beast!
Which is really what is so disappointing about BJ as a fighter. The guy has unbelievable natural talent, but he just doesn’t have that fire under his ass to push himself from a conditioning perspective.
If BJ had Sherk, GSP, or Couture’s work ethic (along with some quality strategy guidance), the guy would be unstoppable IMO. He could hold the lightweight belt pretty much until he decided to retire, and who knows maybe even both the LW and WW belts.
But sadly he doesn’t, so we’ll probably never get to see him at his true potential.

Would he be? There have been athletes like this before and when they worked hard they sucked.
Like who?
Think of the greatest athletes from any sport and you’re almost certain to find that they were among the most dedicated and hard working.
Dan Gable was legendary for his work ethic (always the first one at practice, always the last to leave), Walter Payton was a beast in the gym and would run endless hills to build up his leg strength and endurance, Michael Jordan never gassed during a game, nor was he ever accused of having a weak work ethic, Tiger Woods is no slouch when it comes to conditioning, Karelin was a maniac in terms of strength and conditioning.
Seriously, where are all these athletes who’s performance suffers from them getting serious about improving their work ethic?
