Bitch, Please!

Flew indeed! You made that look like it was easy. Awesome! And you have my EXACT Fivefingers. I love 'em for lifting.

About lats, yes on the trouble even flexing them sometimes. It helps to put a hand back there. I should probably spend more time when I’m watching TV or whatever, just putting an arm up and contracting them to try to build some connections. LAZY LATS I tell you!

Heh, I got neck ache watching those. Nice shorts.

Congrats on increasing your DLs! They were fast and sharp. I struggle with keeping my lats tight too. I’ve been trying to give it extra attention on my lifts lately.

For the record, her calves are as awesomely big in real life as on the internet.

love your shorts!
your pre diet beats my post diet look

keep lifting those deads are improving fast

Wow - impressive. Thick quads, great arms & delts, nice V-taper.

Great work! : )

Just checking in.

Puff- I love my Sprints! SH and I both took our vibrams along with a pair of flip flops and figured that would cover just about everything. I trained in them yesterday then wore them when we went exploring this morning. They worked pretty well. I only fell once. On an algae covered rock. In the middle of a waterfall (see above). And I have to do the same stuff for the lazy lats.

Cal- You can thank youtube for that. The videos were upright before they were uploaded.

sb- Thanks! Lats are tricky. Thats something that I have to continue to work on too.

mmatt- Don’t forget to tell them about my awesome ability to put away a whole pizza as fast as any of the boys

Mainey and SkyNett- Thanks! After 3 days of restaurant food, whole pizzas, ice cream and wedding cake I probably shouldn’t be wearing those shorts or the bikini right now…

Re the bikini: wear it while you can. After years of bikinis I bought a one-piece yesterday. I’m tired of sucking my gut in. My middle age, post child bearing mid-section has been exacerbated by thickening from heavy lifting. I finally just thought, fuck it.

Believe me, you can carry it off very well. Nice pulling btw.

You look great! Awesome delts!

For the record, I have never asked any woman for pictures. Not my style

Oh yeah, I throw as much gangsta rap into my gym playlist as possible. You fuckin gangsta.

a gangster from Ohio?

It doesn’t add up!

I’d love to get some Vibrams but they’re >100 quid here. I know I could, theoretically, get them cheaper on the internet but I really need to go to a shop and try them on. I have high insteps and an accessory navicular (extra bone) so I need to get measured properly.

You mentioned slipping in them - are they otherwise OK in the wet? Just asking because, well, tends to get wet here a lot.

Miss O - one pieces are quite comfy so I really don’t blame you. I’ve got one for the pool and swimming lessons and stuff. Don’t have to worry about sucking it in or letting things that shouldn’t hang out. And I hear you on the thicker waist. I’m not lean enough that you can tell that my waist is as thick as it is because of muscle and not just fat.

Hey Ponce! Same here on the gangsta rap. And the more ridiculous it is the better.

Betty- I know, right. I’m probably the whitest white girl you’ll ever meet. That probably makes my love for awful gangsta rap even more ridiculous. Or maybe that explains why I have such horrible taste in rap. I’m not sure which.

Cal- I don’t know if I did the math right, but 100 quid is about $160 here. Which is also about twice as much as they typically cost. Ouch. I found that the sizing chart was spot on. I bought mine from a store but I ended up buying the size it said I would need.

I’ve only slipped in them on things that anyone would slip on. This time it was an algae covered rock in the middle of a waterfall we were trying to climb up. Everyone was falling down. They are generally very grippy. I’m not one of those people that thinks they are perfect for everything but if you ever have the opportunity to at least try them on I would definitely recommend it.

If you look really closely, you’ll see that there’s one handsome motherfucker standing up on top of those rocks.

bench (paused)
45x10
95x5
115x2
125x2x3

front squat
45x5
95x5
115x3x3

super set
db curls- 30x10x3
db rear delt- 5x15x3

Spent the day in the car and was worn out after all of the outdoor adventures. Needless to say, the workout sucked. I ended up doing my bench as prescribed and it went fine, but I went lighter on front squats than planned and skipped out on much additional accessory work.

Went to the gym today to get in my last squat workout of this block before I deload next week. Day at the gym went something like this:

stretch/roll for 20+ min
squat-- work up to 95x5x2
cardio-- 15 min

Thats right. I spent less than 5 min actually training…

My knee felt awful on squats so I called it before I had even gotten halfway through my warm up sets. I don’t have any knee problems, but I’ve been bad about taking care of my body lately. I could FEEL myself getting tighter and tighter on my right side this past week but I haven’t been keeping up on my foam rolling. (Bad buckeye! Bad! I know better than this).

The new plan: restorative work between now and Monday. SFW on Monday instead of doing my deload DL workout. Training has been going really well. I’ve been hitting the high end of my prescribed reps/sets the whole cycle so I’m not too upset about the minor set back. And I’m scheduled to deload so no biggie if I push a workout back.

I’m also liking the idea of going in fresh and feeling good on Monday because my wt is supposed to be 220-225 and 2 plates is still a bit of a mindfuck for me. I know I can do it. I’ve done it before. My weights leading up to this have been easy but something about TWO WHOLE PLATES tends to fuck with me mentally. Stupid brain needs to stop being such a pussy.

Buckeye, I haven’t gotten back to your log until now. Thanks for the info on the snacks.

My diet requirements are just trying to become less fat.

Does the foam rolling really help you a lot? I’m suffering from some tightness/pinched nerve problems with my right shoulder, trying to figure out a way to get everything working right again.

Great avatar pic!

And wow on the lifting videos…

You make it look easy.

I’m not totally sure how the rest of the week is going to go with training and diet. We’ve got an out of town wedding this weekend and then we’re doing vacation at the lake. This means bikini season has officially begun. Well, its actually been like 80+ for like a month and a half now, but this will mark the beginning of the “omg i’m going to be scantily clad in public” season.

While I’m not the type to have a nervous breakdown in a department store fitting room over how I look in swimwear, I am wishing I had lost a little more of the winter chub. I’m hesitant to say this, but I think once the meet is over in July I might do some real dieting and see if I can get more than my top row of abs to show…

So without further ado. Here is 1. my super cute bikini and 2. my beginning of the summer “before” body.[/quote]

I have to comment on this! You look amazing. If this is before, your after is going to knock us all on our asses. Nice work!

2busy- The foam rolling does help me when I’m consistent. I can’t comment on helping with pinched nerves but I like to use the foam roller on my legs, and a lacrosse ball on my glutes and upper back to help get rid of the knots.
If you want to get the same effect as a foam roller only cheaper, you can pick up a length of 4-6 inch diameter PVC pipe. Its harder than a roam roller, but you don’t have to pay for shipping and I personally think a lot of the foam rollers are too soft. A rolling pin is another alternative.

ironcross- See pic. Thanks but I’m not so sure about knocking anyone on their ass. Its not totally a “before” I’ve been IFing since April and have been slowly recomping. I haven’t been real strict (like last week when I ate an entire pizza) but I guess I’ve been doing enough to see changes. I guess we’ll see how things go after the meet…

What’s your IF protocol if you don’t mind me asking? I’ve been doing it since mid-may and like it a lot. I’m always curious as to what other people’s approach is!
