Who gives a shit about birthdays once you’re past age 16?
It’s not like you accomplished anything having to do with being born.
It’s embarrassing when someone acknowledges your birthday, or makes a big deal about it.
There is nothing wrong with celebrating your birthday. It is a time to be with your family, best friends, and to have fun. I can see not celebrating maybe a lot later in life if it makes you feel old, but a 23rd birthday is fine to celebrate.
Yer 20. Whadda YOU know?

I think about half of you in this thread are a bunch of silly macho ass wipes. I’m sure you guys are SO bad ass that you never have bad days, things ALWAYS go exactly how you want them and you always get what you want. Bad days are relative, what’s a bum day to me isn’t the same as a bum day for you, or a SEAL operator or a starving Ethiopian kid or a prince who’s wifes’ tits are plastered all over French magazines.
I said it wasn’t the worst day ever, but it was enough to lower my mood. I’m sure what constitutes a bad day for me will change as I get older, but right now it is what it is. So in the meantime, you can take your faulty, elitist standards of what can and can not be considered a bad day and shove them up your ass.
real men don’t have bad days and complain about it on the internet. in fact, real men don’t complain much at all.

You just shut up half the people that posted in this thread and therefore insured that this thread won’t grow at the same undeserving rate it did. I applaud you for this eloquent response to your haters.
I sympathise with you on that shitty day, in addition to how you’ve been treated in this thread. Maybe it’s because I’m 21 and college educated like yourself. Or maybe it’s because I also don’t appreciate people I don’t know enough to value trying to put me down or lecture me.
We young and ‘they scared.’

Yeah…
Scared…
Sooooo scared…
Must be existential anxiety, cause there is nothing scary about you.
What part of knowing everything because he is “college edumacted” don’t you find scary?

It’s not about having a bad day or not, it’s about how you handle it. I personally don’t go making winy threads on the internet.
Nobody cares how you feel.

You can’t tell this to someone until they have bridged the gap to “full adult.” A 23 year old college student is not a grown man. I don’t mean that physically, I mean mentally.
If your biggest problem is one test and you can blow off another responsibility to study for it you have more in common with my Sesame Street watching nephew than with an adult.

We were talking about this today at work. Most of our employees are young guys due to the physical nature of the work. Over many years my boss has determined 21 year olds are at the height of their insanity and that something magical happens at about 25 where most guys suddenly begin to spontaneously pull their heads out of their asses.
Turns out this is apparently around the time when we experience the first rapid increase in frontal cortex (“adult” rational brain) development and activity that we have had since we were around 5 yrs old.
So in a sense you’re right about guys in their early 20’s having a lot in common with your nephew.
BTW I’m not meaning to insult younger people. It’s just that there’s a reason that their world views tend to be a lot different than those of guys who are only a few years older.
Of course life experience comes into play, but there is a marked physical event that takes place inside the brain as well.
