Thats all you eat?
Buddy, your missing out. I eat chicken, rice and brazil nuts, but I also eat; t-bone steaks, salmon, pork chops, cashews, almonds, spinach, peppers, tomatoes, beans, oats, cabbage, organic eggs, coffee, vegetable juice, coconut water, 85% chocolate and jelly sammiches!!!
Variety is the spice of life!

I ate a variety of foods when I was fat and weak. I also eat whatever I want on legitimate holidays and special occasions. I eat this way because it’s cost effective and delivers the results I want.
Like I said before- if variety works for you, then keep doing it. Just come to this site looking for sympathy because the 85% chocolate wasn’t sweet enough and you decided to slay a whole box of oreos lol

Buddy, you need to take a chill pill. Seriously. How long have you been living on chicken and brazil nuts? Serious man, life is short, treat yourself to a steak or something.

No green vegetables? Toss some broccoli in there, and that diet’s untouchable…
You mention cost-effective, but cranberry juice is pretty expensive from what I’ve seen. What brand do you buy?
I’d say limit your cheat meals/days to one every two weeks or so, after you clean up your diet (try looking into Nate Miyagi’s Paleo+rice/potatoes approach). If you choose a diet that is not too restrictive in terms of calories and carbs, your cheating will eventually have to become more infrequent in order to continue losing fat.

If life is so short and he needs to chill, then why the hell are you worried about a “relapse”. Shouldn’t you be the one who needs to chill and enjoy life? Im confused. Or is it that you don’t have the will power to eat properly and when someone tells you how, you tell them life is too short to eat like that?

I dont consider a diet of chicken, brazil nuts and cranberry juice to be proper. And yes life is too short to only eat those things.
I am chilled, I was just seeing if any other t-nationers experience the “relapse”, and it looks like they do. Maybe you should take a chill pill aswell little buddy.

I just found it confusing and contradictory so I asked for the sake of confirmation. I’ve seen your pics, you’re the little guy in this conversation, little guy. Off to take my chill pill

I had to get a different brand when I last went shopping because they were out of my usual stuff. I honestly can’t remember the name of my usual brand right now, but it’s $4 for a bottle, which is all I need for a week.
I have green veggies from time to time. My living situation is pretty asinine though and I don’t really have a good way to keep veggies fresh, so I go without most of the time.

My lulz were more related to your use of the phrase “take a chill pill” than anything else. I tend to avoid what’s proper anyway, so if you don’t consider my diet to be proper then I think I’m doing it right.
For me, life is too short to not enjoy every workout or to be unhappy with what I see in the mirror- that’s why I eat what I do.
Like I said before, if your diet gives you what you’re looking for, then so be it. Keep it up.
I just read this book and it really changed the way I think about food, or specifically the occasional desire to say “what the hell” to your eating plan.
I found it because Penny Price Mcintosh recommended. It came out in 2009, and my library had a copy.
It’s not full of a lot of self-help stuff, it’s more science oriented, and it’s really worth reading for anybody who has ever eaten 6 chocolate chip cookies, and then wondered how that happened.
I find it pretty hilarious that The Bird makes a thread complaining about how he can’t help but relapse on a diet, and asking for advice on how to avoid it. Then spends a page ranting about how the guy who’s overcome that problem is eating wrong.

Thanks powderpuff,
Im checking it out on amazon, and Ill add it to my list of books to read.
Lately Ive been avoiding my crazy binges by just eating more in general, and trying to eat more of the good stuff, but not totally eliminating such simple pleasure such as dark chocolate and the occasional beer. Im also eating mass amounts of natural peanut butter.

Like those people who are addicted to eating shit like chalk, toilet paper, cardboard, pens etc. They need a fucking multi vitamin or something. [/quote]
Lol
I agree with these comments.
Years ago when I started training as a complete newbie, I’d have these cravings/binge-eating episodes as well about 1x / week. Once I actually figured out:
a. my caloric needs (maintenance, then necessary surplus or deficit depending on whether I was cutting/bulking)
b. cleaned up my diet (95% clean foods, even during bulking)
c. got proper vitamin supplementation down (I do esp. recommend Vit. D - not as a hunger suppressant but as a mood stimulator - works for me…)
I managed to stop these binge-eating episodes for good.
Now, I can easily handle my clean diet with 2 cheat meals per week when bulking (meaning I replace 2 clean meals with stuff from Subway/Wendy’s/etc. while still hitting my macros) and 1 big cheat meal when cutting with pretty good results.
PS: If you’re doing tons of cardio - stop/scale it back - that has caused huge hunger in me in the past. Also, discipline is ALWAYS a key factor - just no way around it imo…
