I’m not sure if this has been posted already but what is the shelf life of both products when mixed with water ?
I try to slam down the drinks as soon as possible post workout (SURGE) and first thing in the morning (GROW!)with breakfast but sometimes there is some left over.
My question is; is the degradation (denaturing ?) of the protein that bad or will I be losing some of the benefits of the drink by letting it sit too long ?
Hope you guys can fill me in on this.
I think I remember hearing that the ingredients will not “denature” or anything like that over the course of a few hours or so.
In my experience, drinking Surge an hour or two after mixing, the Surge tasted unbelievably horrible and bitter. It did not taste or smell spoiled, but bitter. The whey is supposed to be foul-tasting, so I assumed that the miraculous masking flavoring had dissipated. So now I put the dry Surge in a Rubbermaid drink thing, and add water at the gym right after my workout, shake, and drink. It dissolves easily.
The Grow is another story. I’ve kept it refrigerated for a few days. The texture changed and was not as nice, but it seemed OK. When this stuff goes bad, you will know. In a warm car, for example, it will go bad very quickly.
