Bigger They Are, Harder They Fall?

Of course shitty fighter vs shitty fighter the one with more muscle mass is probably going to win. But imagine for example if Pudz fought a real fighter? He would have got knocked out in like 10 seconds in that fight.
x 2
that fight couldve just as easily been outside a nightclub in krakow on a sat night. carwin, valasquez or any HW with decent standup wouldve handled that. it was his 1st fight in MMA so putting him in with a boxer gave him an opponent with weaknesses that he could exploit. that said hes only a beginner so writting him off is both premature and unfair, time will tell.

Yes I have actually fought more than my fair share of mma bouts , so take you attitude else where child; the point I was making is now days people just do a little of everything just to say they do mma.
What an angry person you need to chill abit!

2 guys train to fight but one ALSO trains for strength…shit’s obvious.

My 165 pound jujitsu instructor (when I did it off and on through high school) couldnt hang with me at all at 250…even the 215-230 dudes owned him.

he’d always talk about how size didnt matter til he couldnt move one of use or was pushed out of the boundary.
Are you trained by a blue belt or something?

I’m 170 and have been doing BJJ for about a year and I’ve submitted people who weighed around 220-230. look at the old UFC fights, Royce fought at 180 and destroyed everyone.

LMAO @ this thread. So a strong man competitor who is also a boxer and trained for MMA beat another MMA fighter so that means anyone who is huge who has never trained can beat the crap out of someone who is a skilled fighter?? There are numerous videos to counter that claim. I’ve even sparred with guys at 215 while I was 170 and schooled them, and they had been training for years, but thats because I had years of experience on them and their size can easily been negated with speed and good foot work.

Now I’m not defending the jackasses that wear tapout shirts that think they’re tough shit. Someone that knows how to handle themselves should walk soft but carry a big stick (what my dad used to tell me). But don’t categorize all guys that are big as badass fighters. Most of them don’t know how to throw a proper punch or balance themselves while throwing combos.

On the flip side, the only street fight I have ever lost was to a guy who hit me so damn hard I felt like he was gunna knock my head off my shoulders. So strength has a lot to do with it, but he was a boxer as well, so it’s not like he wasn’t a skilled fighter.

Strength, size, speed, and skill determine the outcome of a fight, you cannot isolate any of those aspects and say oh if you’re big enough or strong enough or fast enough you’ll always win. Sounds like a fkn amateur thing to say if you ask me.

That video Andrew posted was awesome, anyone that claims that the bigger guy didn’t have an advantage is kidding themselves though.

The problem with this argument is it’s stupid
Bigger guys think littler guys are arguing that their size doesn’t give them an edge (which would be retarded). Littler guys think that bigger guys are arguing that without combat training(or only minimal) they will always be superior (which would also be retarded). The internet has had this argument enough times by now, right?

Yeh but now every fighter is way more advanced in a wider range of martial arts. Did you see the Matt Hughes Vs Royce fight? Royce got completely schooled!

lol, Blue Belt!! No, he was legit Black. My training was and still is wrestling though si I wasnt “kid off the street” …most influential coaches of the last 6-7 years have been John Yaki and The Contos’ and before them lots of others taught me tricks n shit.

Or some guy that’s 4th degree black belt in tai-bo. This sounds completely made up, or your instructor had no business instructing. I’m voting for you made that up.

I’m not really surprised. Pudz is just a monster. The man isn’t human. Getting him by him would be like getting hit by a truck every time.

The bigger the guy, the greater the concussion you will receive.

sure, you’ve got a chance of submitting a heavier opponent who doesn’t know what their doing.

trying working your ‘secret ultra ninja voodoo shit’ on a 230lb dude who knows what he’s doing.

i’d wipe the floor with you.

hint: you’re not the only one that knows bjj
