Bigger, stronger, leaner.

?? Pics are still important because anyone can claim something worked for them…and still have no muscle.

This isn’t just about “improving”…since you can “improve” for years and never get big.

If anything, I would think what you actually built would be even more important here.

In fact, if your goal isn’t to get really big, you are likely on the wrong forum.

Maybe they need a “go to the gym but not really trying that hard to get that big” forum.

So the bigger, stronger leaner forum is basically just the really big forum then? Um ok maybe I will check out that not really trying forum you mention

Yes. This is the extra big forum. The not really trying forum and scared to post pictures forum were all condensed into “Get a life” forum.

But then when someone goes about how insulin sensitivity increases as you lean down that same poster goes about how we need study to prove that and broscience is being spewed all over the place yada yada

That is my problem

Yeah, I’m doing my best to stay the hell out of any potential nonsense in the new forum out of respect for the powers that be and other members, but I’ve been watching this as well the last couple of days, and scratching my head. If the goal is to bring some better sensibilities and intelligence back to the forums, what reads as hypocrisy surely isn’t doing it in my opinion.

It’s almost like quoting a highly respected coach when he eyeballs your bf levels, citing his word as fact, but then ignoring the same expert opinion when he publicly (repeatedly) states that the approach you constantly tout as being best to pack on muscle may indeed not be.

(no personal animosity in this response, but it just seems silly to me. If I’m reading things incorrectly, someone please explain)

S
Still wondering if you see “hypocrisy” or if I cleared that up for you?

When do you feel a lifter should start to worry about body fat levels and fat gains . I know this is more dependent on the lifter and how much fat he’s willing to get but i’d like to hear your thoughts on that.

I feel that everyone should be paying attention to as much as possible from the very beginning.

It is simply understood that a newb doesn’t know shit.

That means if a newb who has no clue starts overanalyzing every detail without full understanding. they will stagnate.

If someone is really skinny from the start, the goal should be getting that weight up and working on strength making sure at least most of that shit is all out muscle.

You don’t need a sniper rifle at that stage. You need a sawed off shot gun.

If someone is starting off fat, then yes, they will need to pay more attention to detail, but again, they just need to get in the gym first and see how their body responds to the training without massive changes in calories.

Funny, I see it almost daily.

We are literally have arguments because some of us don’t compete and don’t care about being contest level lean. There are arguments about how your gains don’t matter or can not be quantified unless in contest shape…and arguments about how hugely built people are so fat that their advice doesn’t matter.

PX have you noticed if it is more frequent recently? I know the competitive season is near for many of these people, there might be a correlation to be found.
CT, you can’t honestly tell me that PX has no part in this. You can pick many threads, but these two recent ones are classic Profesor X behavior.

In the second thread PX goes on to complain about how we used to have “real” discussions around here. Then someone linked a thread from SIX years ago discussing the same topic.

The first couple of pages revealed the same Professor X trying to make people feel stupid and acting like he’s an all-knowing authority because he’s a dentist.

AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

How did I miss that pre-fatigue thread? Hilarious. Only sad part is it sounds like he convinced some people and they took his advice.

I’m pretty sure you could right a basic computer program for Xs arguing. All you’d have to do is start an asinine argument, then hit run and it would automatically respond to quotes of your post using X’s arguing rules to auto generate replies in a narcissistic, self deluded, asshole manner. I would but that app.

ryan - curious as to what you’ve actually contributed to any threads in any forums. The few posts that I’ve seen from you in a couple threads show you to be nothing more than a troll taking pot shots. I rarely single out people in these forums but maybe I have a hair up my ass today.

I’ve not seen one intelligent post from you regarding training, methods, or wit of any sort. Have you ever posted any pictures of the amazing progress you try to project or are you just another anonymous troll who wastes bandwidth and add nothing to any conversation?

Isn’t it about time you put up or shut up?

are you serious? it is literally impossible to have an intelligent discussion about bodybuilding on T-Nation. majority of my time is spent learning from people who actually have something to offer e.g zraw, stu, walkway and a few others.

when i do decide to post it usually pointing out blatant bullshit i see posted. the whole forum pretty much laughed at X because he refused to admit he had it wrong, so he tried to make it out like he was talking about some different method that apparently alot of “big guys” use. yet the whole idea of it is fucking dumb and makes no sense at all.

i may not be the most helpful posters around, but at least im not one of the main guys fucking up this entire forum. i wasn’t aware one must be huge to point out incorrect information?
