Big Overhand Deadlifts

To all those posting hook grips, not what I asked.

Meat, did you do anything specific grip wise to be able to hold onto 600 doh? Or did it just come with your deadlift?

I myself always used to mix, but since tearing my bicep I’ve decided not to bother mixing anymore. [/quote]

i stopped using straps for anything. all rowing movements are done without straps. also, i do a tone of curls thumbless. i’ve also found that doing supramaximal work with chains and bands really help. doing things like reverse band deads where at the bottom the weight is light enough for double overhand but as you lift the weight it increasingly gets heavier really works the grip. i find that just doing straight weigh for grip doesn’t do much for me for my grip. lastly, when my grip was weak i did a ton of plate pinches. i started with two ten pound plates and worked up to doing two 45 pound plates. i would stay with a weight until i could hold it for 30 seconds.
