Big Milestones! Squat, Total, Deadlift!

Competed yesterday and hit some major milestones for me. Just wanted to share them with you guys seeing how I enjoy following many of your guys progress. Lifted at 82.8kg bodyweight (IPF 83kg category) and totaled 842.5kg for an 563 wilks:

Squat 332.5kg

Bench 210kg

Deadlift 300kg

Impressive Work…Respects!

Holy squat grinder! Great work dude!

Fuck yeah great work!

Very impressive. Will you be competing at IPF Open Worlds this year? It’s in my back yard.

Congrats!

Like those above, very impressed.

That squat is legit.

Dude you got your knees out sooo far on that squat that was crazy

Thanks a lot guys. Unfortunately no international contests for me this year. Going to take some time to build up to new bests for commonwealths in 2015 which happen to here in Vancouver. From there the dream is to make it to world games but a lot needs to be done before now and then. Glad everyone liked the squat… I was fricking excited to get my first 4x bodyweight!! There was no way I was going to miss it!!!

Nice job. That puts you right near the top of the rankings.

How many lifters were there? I’m waiting for the results to be posted. Someone told me Joe was running 100 lifters on two platforms. It that how it went?

Nice job. That’s a very good total.

Results are now posted. Was an interesting meet - basically two independent platforms run directly side by side. Fifty six 3 lifters and a bunch of bench and special O in the morning. For the record, it puts me 4th in all time CPU behind Miller from 2010, MacDonald from 2012, and Mardell from 2010. My next by goal is 865 to take over the #1 slot!

Really impressive !

Tank!

Daaayyyyuuummm!!! Way to show gravity who’s boss!

I found the results and looked at the ranking list. That’s a pretty awesome spot to be in.

How did you find the two platforms running? Becky Lauridsen was reffing I believe and she said one lifter got red-lighted for jumping a signal but was given another attempt because they heard the signal from the other platform.

Whats in the water up there in Canada? I need me some of that. Great job man, that squat was incredible. 4x bw, thats insane. Hell, you hit 10x bw. I’m sold on moving to Canada. Good luck with the 865 total!! that would be something else, wish you the best in training, you got this.

To be honest, when I lift I am oblivious to everything but the head judge and the bar so it was totally fine for me. They also sort of paused for my squatting so that was nice for me. I can certainly imagine how the commands could cross. The nice thing they did was that the announcers had totally different voices which prevented confusion but one head ref was a lot louder than the other which I can see being an issue for a less experienced lifter or even a very excited one. Certainly they did a good job with what they had to work with. Hanging something between the two platforms might have helped but the spectators seemed to really like being able to watch the two platforms - made spectating much more exciting with wayyyy less waiting between lifts.

They really have made great use of the Oval. It’s a beautiful venue to lift in.

Haha thanks buddy. I think it’s the milk not the water haha (could just be the near gallon I drink a day haha). If you are interested in my training I keep a log which can be found by googling “adam Ramzy powerlifting”.

Tomorrow is a projected -64*C in Saskatoon, not even kidding. Maybe thats the russians secret haha. Ramzy you made a good call on UBC haha.

Pretty sure I commented on facebook, but its worth saying again, really impressive lifts. It takes alot for me to genuinely take interest in equipped lifting just because it’s not where I focus my time, but you are proof that to be legitimately impressive in gear the foundation is build by just straight up being strong. Too many people hide behind the equipment but you certainly aren’t one of them, like many of the other top IPF lifter’s who have recently competed raw.
