Biden 2021 - A Mediocre Middle Ground

Voter ID is an issue that goes back years.

Just because you can’t get your head around the many mechanisms available to manipulate vote counts doesn’t mean other people can’t.

At least as far back as Jim Crow.

And those geniuses can’t prove fraud. So what is their real motivation?

C’mon, @zecarlo

“Voting Integrity”…

:face_vomiting: (Wasn’t sure if there was a vomiting emoji or not!)

You should see us get worked up over the idea that everyone should have health care.

I had no idea you lived under that kind of repression.

What if you brought someone with you to vote and they don’t have ID? Can you just say “It’s okay, she’s with me” and then she gets to vote even if she looks way too young to be in the room?

That’s funny, I don’t care what side you’re on

I know, we only had slavery, Jim Crow, lynchings, redlining… He’s talking about real disenfranchisement.

If it’s Alabama and they’re going to vote Republican it will be OK. They will probably assume she’s his wife anyway.

I guess you CAN but, if you do, you probably spend your nights wearing hoods, riding horses, and burning crosses in yards.

LOL.

Fraud doesn’t need to exist. It just needs to be an excuse for voter suppression measures.

I just don’t understand why it is racism to want everyone to have an ID, but NOT racism to assume minorities are incapable of obtaining one.

I’m just guessing, but probably because YOU are also racist. At least, I assume that would be their explanation. They have only one play.

A fair point. Although, judging by Congressional output, if you attempted to copy a well performing social model such as Aus, or Switzerland, you’d end up with some through the looking glass version where the federal government would kill every first born and 4% of GDP is mandated for the Tajikistan space program.

Counterpoint, fraud doesn’t need to be widespread for election security measures to be a valuable exercise.

Anyone read the Navarro report? Lot of stuff around but it’s a good one

Its a clear report overviewing the election fraud, how it was stolen and presented in a quantitative manner, since a few event doesn’t show the big picture.

It’s good to become knowledgeable of the facts before writing pages of opinions.

And that’s why we already have those measures.

That’s what Republicans are hoping. See what I did there?

I am playing Devil’s advocate here, but it wouldn’t be secured by my country’s definition. It seems akin to the Australian system, as far as I can grasp, which isn’t some tinpot banana republic.

I’d like to see the right to vote and bear arms be tied together. As in, the same level of restrictions and ID requirements would automatically apply to both.

“Hi, I’d like to buy your deadliest gun please.”

“No problem. I’ll just need to see some ID, like a utility bill with your name and address on it or a government issued photo ID.”

“Great. Here’s my Netflix bill. Say, aren’t you supposed to do some kind of background check?”

“Not anymore. Scholars determined that background checks disproportionately prevent minorities and undocumented immigrants from exercising their rights. Gotta follow the science.”

“Thanks, this gun will really help me deal with my enemies.”
