There is so much about politics in Maine that absolutely stinks to high heaven right now. If Auburn PD gave him bad paperwork, that’s on them, but people are getting really sick of all of the WTF? happening every week, all while prices for everything skyrocket and quality of services diminish. We rarely get explanations, just the usual sanctimonious platitudes.
The worst stuff that used to happen in Maine for literally centuries were things like bar brawls, domestic violence, drunk driving, the occasional psycho popping up and the occasional instances of organized crime violence from down south playing out in the woods.
There just wasn’t a culture of violence until Maine decided it needed to import different people not by simply inviting them as Maine always has, but by promising very needy people from all over a lot of Maine’s money. Throw in the decriminalization of crime and the idea that the most destructive among us are actually victims of society and you get a recipe for a shockingly rapid transformation.
