So there are states that are functioning just fine with lots Guns and lots of Voting. That’s reassuring!
The big difference is I can’t show up to buy a gun in Maine with a utility bill as a form of identification. You need a valid form of easily-obtained government-issued photo ID, and that’s just to get the FFL to hand you ATF Form 4473 to begin the background check process.
I think this is a good thing, and most other people do too.
There’s a simple reason Democrat politicians fight Voter ID requirements with so much vigor even though a strong majority of their own party favors it and an overwhelming majority of Americans do.
They’ll lose a lot of elections if they are clean, transparent and easily-auditable. They may even have to adopt a reasonable policy platform to stay viable.
They don’t want confidence restored in the system, they want the entire election process to be as drawn-out and murky as possible. This is reflected in policy and the recent legislation, all couched in nonsense language like “Voting Rights” and “Jim Crow on Steroids”.

Yes I’m one of those unrepentant white supremacists who doesn’t like the idea of allowing non-citizens to vote, nor am I particularly receptive to the idea of dissolving the southern border. I welcome anyone who wants to become a citizen.
I’m now strongly in-favor of heavily militarizing our northern border. If it saves us from one Trudeau, it will all be worth it.

I know you are being sarcastic here. But I have resolved not to ever use the redefinitions of the left in my own speech. When they coerce you to use their redefinitions, they are coercing you to lie. Because those words don’t really mean that.
And the border crisis is a massive problem. And of course it’s all in hopes to tip the voter pool toward the democrat party. They play dirty and dangerous games with all our lives, just to retain power. And we all know it. And we need to do something about it, every day in our own little way.
