Not in regards to the mandate. If an employer can fire someone for a medical procedure, they should be able to fire for a different medical procedure.

Honestly, after looking at it myself, the best places to go are either some banana republic that is small, out of the way and unconcerned or the U.S. Like that genius Soviet spy guy says, “When the U.S. falls there will be no place to run.” He was right. My mother went to Europe recently and got covid. She was fully vaccinated and all that shit, but she got stranded for 10 days. Thank God it wasn’t longer.

You, naturally missed the point. We function on under a set of negative laws which is the way a place of freedom must operate in order to remain free. Creating positive laws violates the constitution from the letter to the intent. A government shall not compel behaviour of speech.
I honestly don’t get why folks get their panties in a bunch over people not behaving like you would prefer them to behave. Some people don’t want the shot. Some people can’t get the shot, some people don’t need the shot. So what’s is to you? Why do you care? Especially if you are double, triple and quadruple vaccinated?
Compelled behavior is the beginning of authoritarianism. It’s how government officials gain more power over your life. And you do not recognize that they keep moving the goal posts on you and fail to realize, however obedient you are to the man, you will never be actually released and free to go about your business. There will always be another virus, another variant of that virus and if you allow the government to micromanage your life, it will never stop.
This is the plot of every dystopian novel ever written, it’s done in plain sight and you either cannot see it, or your on the side of the authoritarians. But sadly for you, you get none of their power, but they have all of your support. That’s sad.

Like how did the “Okay” had signal become a racist dog whistle? 4chan made a joke and some numbskull took it seriously and had a melt down on social media. Now we hear news stories of ruined lives, because people not in the cult, were indicating that they were ‘okay’ and it got caught on camera.
It sucks, but complacency is how ordinary people got tangled up in messes they couldn’t have thought of in their wildest imagination 10 years ago. We can’t let people lie and not challenge them, even on t-nation as ridiculous as it sounds. I am not saying its a mission. But people outside the cult need to call out the cult frequently, often and loud, no matter how insignificant they seem. Not be mean, not hurt anybody, just call out the bullshit and not just throw our hands up as if its a waste of time. We can’t afford to do that anymore.

I am vehemently against biden’s illegal, immoral decrees about immunization or anything else. You cannot compel behavior. It’s the road to authoritarianism, which were have already turned down. It’s time we make a U-turn.

An injunction was filed stopping the federal contractor mandate today.
We literally had people cleaning out offices when the news came down. Right down to the wire.
Of course this is probably very frustrating to the people who already quit or took early retirement, but that’s how the game of brinksmanship gets played.

When the mandates were announced we had roughly 35 percent unvaccinated. I don’t have the exact numbers as more have gotten the jab since but as of a few weeks ago we were still facing the possibility of losing 15-20 percent of the workforce.
I don’t think so, because we didn’t, at least not compared to other states. Forced business shutdowns were in-effect last year and those have been lifted for some time now. We had a mask mandate that nobody enforced for a while too.
Day-to-day life has been more or less normal in Maine for most of 2021.

Nope, the success rate in preventing symptomatic disease from the Salk polio vaccine is roughly equal to that of the current Covid vaccines. There were much more deaths that from the “experimental” covid ones, but at the end polio was eradicated through herd immunity caused by mass vaccination (haven’t heard that phrase for more than a year, haven’t we?)

It is rather interesting hearing an intelligent person rationalize creating second class citizens and locking people up without due process over the Wu Flu. I find it refreshing when someone can speak plainly about their support for taking society in that direction.
It’s a lot less tiring than debating someone who won’t come right out and say things like.
Put them out of work.
Put them in camps.
Don’t let them participate in society.
Like I said above, agree to disagree. This pandemic doesn’t present a grave enough threat to justify any such measures. I believe the threat presented by implementing such measures is far, far greater than any threat presented by COVID 19.

I don’t know what planet you are on, but putting people out of work is exactly what the mandates were doing (and have already done) where I work. Camps are exactly what are being implemented in Australia. Shutting people out of society is exactly what New York City just did.

My conclusions are drawn on publicly available data, my own opinions about governance and my concerns about long term loss of liberty in the United States.
Today is 2021 in a digital information landscape that spans a globe that can be traversed in hours. It is not 1919. COVID didn’t come here on a boat. 1919 measures don’t automatically translate whatever success they had into 2021. The world is quite different now.
My hunch still says Chinese bio weapon, btw. Maybe its a pangolin cough that spread in a wet market. Who knows?

Well, the system though fragile is seeming to hold up, so far.
The problem is, the judicial branch has no enforcement power, that power was given to the executive that is supposed to uphold the rulings of the judicial. When you have an executive that is at loggerheads with the judicial, well I don’t know how much the judicial can actually do to prevent the executive from just ignoring them.

I had opinions alright, my own opinions. I don’t watch mainstream news media hardly ever. Don’t project on me. Just because you follow the media like a dog, does not mean I do. If media happens to say something I agree with, so be it. I was against masks from the beginning. I talked about it here, feel free to dig if you wish. I always thought they were stupid. Everybody I know who has gotten covid did so wearing a mask.
Ivermectin has some actual correlational data backing it up. Nobody is saying it’s a cure, but especially in poorer regions where that is all they have, it has shown benefits.
Immigration centers? You’re actually trying to claim that Howard Springs is an immigration camp? LOL! Wow, that was the dumbest attempt at a defense I have ever heard. Reports from too many sources to name know what is happening with these camps. I would give you the benefit of the doubt of being deluded, but I doubt that’s what’s happening. BTW, I don’t know if you knew this, but Australia is surrounded by lots of water. It’s really hard for illegal immigrants to cross over. So it cannot be an immigrant camp, since illegal immigration into Australia is very difficult. I am sure it has happened, but people aren’t just walking over the border unless they can walk on water.
I think it’s terrifying that a person not under the protection of the tribe, would be so open to it authoritarianism. At least we know he’s the type of person who would report his neighbor to the FBI for being a Republican, or having ‘dangerous thoughts’. This is someone who wants to parse society out by ideology and punish those who do not submit.

War on domestic terror on that basis. Using the full spying apparatus of the government to hunt down dissenting journalists, to put parents who object to their schools curriculum on terror watchlists. It’s not funny anymore. Real people are getting really hurt by evil people who think like him.
Democracy will die to applause… Every totalitarian regime came into power on the basis of lies with the approval of the people they mean to subject. And it can happen here. But here, at least some people are fighting back.
