How dare you!
Just pointing out that it isn’t black and white. There are about 10,000 times the amount you listed that have biological ambiguity. If one could accept that someone with XY chromosomes and androgen insensitivity syndrom should be allowed to use the women’s room, then perhaps they could be reasoned with further. That didn’t happen, and instead we got cruelty.
I haven’t asserted this. Perhaps someone else has and I missed it.
My comments have been a bit more aggressive than typical.
But l have a serious concern that the total dismissal of seemingly every cultural norm that are practiced both worldwide and through huge parts of history, is the setup for the failure of man.
This isnt my dad saying get a haircut. It is rejecting every single tradition.
Not just bad ones like slavery (obviously not gone yet), but decent ones like not knocking people in the head, burning up cities, and then trying to destroy their lives if they don’t on hop your train.
That would be me I suppose. I still like you though.
I will say you are consistent. I think that consistency lead to cruelty in this example, but I still like you too.
Who has told you this? An authority greater than Porky’s?
Oh man, i dont want to live in this dystopian world you seem to inhabit. Ill make sure not to visit you down at the bottom of that slippery, slippery slope haha
Personally im more worried about guns and bombs in the hands of extremists and rogue nations/states, climate catastrophe, biological warfare and pandemics, and lot of other things leading to the failure of man. Progressive social ideals, chicks with adams apples, and a small group of fringe anarchist with fireworks are pretty low down on that list. But to each their own i guess.

hey I dont want biden

Unless you get onboard with the liberal agenda tackling global warming, your revenge dish will never get to be served cold.
It sounds like Trump is possibly starting a new party (The Patriot Party).
Perhaps the GoP will impeach him in the senate (enough join to get 2/3) to prevent that, as IMO they would be doomed if that happens.
Off the topic of Biden, but I thought it was interesting. Perhaps should be in the Trump thread?
So much of this. The poem is mediocre drivel. The combination of the rhymes mostly being soft and the rhythm not being consistent made it unclear if it was actually intended as a poem or just dramatic prose. Listening to it read was absolutely grating. She overemphasized literally every word for dramatic effect to the point where it simultaneously felt condescending and monotonous.
To be clear, this isn’t intended as a political analysis. The actual ideas in the poem are mostly uninsightful, milquetoast platitudes that no one really disagrees with. It just felt like awful poetry.
And you think all that comes from the Supreme Court decision? A Supreme Court decision with a 6-3 ruling in a largely conservative Supreme Court? Am I missing something isn’t this just recognizing Bostock/Clayton? Fully apologize if I am.
Either way I feel like this is some serious hyperbole. When we had the gay marriage arguments on here people said the same type of thing (not sure if you were part of them and not accusing you of anything). The “this type of change is going to lead to disaster” has been used throughout American history on any social change.
It was said against interracial marriage, said against women voting, and essentially everything in between. And somehow each time it has been said civilization didn’t fall apart. Maybe this time will be different.
Is it just the transgender part that everyone is talking about? Are you ok with discrimination against sexual orientation? Should the government be able to fire you for being gay?
Not flaming I’m just curious as I only see anyone talking about the transgender part. That’s why I went back and looked again because I’m starting to wonder if I read the order wrong. But it seems like just recognizing bostock right?
Old a bit now I realize but Fox pivoting from Trump kissing quickly. I dunno just made me chuckle at disastrous first week.
What would that look like, anyway?
I dunno but I don’t think anyone would say it’s happened here.
I mean it would be odd for a bunch of people with a cushy enough life to have time to sit around and bs about politics on a lifting message board on their phones or computers to say that.
Must have missed this hope all is ok and everyone gets through it with flying colors.
Well, now that you bring it up…
I grew up with, was on the swim team for years (locker room and all), and even shared a bed on out of town trips with several homosexuals on my squad - 3 of which have died from Aids.
Their preference made no difference to our friendship, they didn’t leer or hit on each other or the heterosexual swimmers. I didn’t approach them like they had cooties or in a bullying manner
At the time, I considered it more an unnatural thing that did not interest me.
Since then, I still consider it unnatural ie against nature. Additionally, I consider its practice to be against my Christian morals. My definition of marriage is 1 man, 1 woman. Nothing else.
Having said that, my biblical guideline is to judge sin, not the person. Therefore discriminating would be wrong. But I am not bound by my faith to embrace what it calls sin. It is no more wrong for me to proclaim active participation in homosexuality wrong than proclaiming heterosexual philandering wrong.
Hey I am a man. I want to have sex with all of these women I see, yet I refrain. It is against my God’s command, my vow of marriage, against the marriages of others, and just not a positive for society at large to blow off monogamy. I fail even at making my thoughts captive, but do realize I and all have a higher calling.
I’ve always thought of swimming as a “rich kid’s” sport. I guess I’ve been wrong. Your team was so poor that several of you had to share a bed.
True, but the broader point I made is true. Laws can and do affect morality, and are quite effective at doing so.
Reflection and manipulation are both at play, even if the reflection is just the reflection of the ruling class.
In just a day! Phenomenal! No wonder people are saying this:
