Brother Chris, I grew up Catholic going to a Catholic school until 8th grade. I say this to you because after reading allot of your post here and elsewhere you seem to want to defend the Catholic church more than the Kingdom of God. They are not the same. jus sayin.
Don’t insult me. I defend the Catholic Church because people attack it.
“The kingdom of God means, the ruling of God in our hearts; it means those principles which separate us off from the kingdom of the world and the devil; it means the benign sway of grace; it means the Church as that Divine institution whereby we may make sure of attaining the spirit of Christ and so win that ultimate kingdom of God Where He reigns without end in “the holy city, the New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God” (Revelation 21:2).”

No insult intended but have read quite abit of your post here and abroad. You are very adamant about Catholicism but people need to know about the the King of Kings and His kingdom more than a religion. There is no religion on planet earth that can save a person from God’s wrath and eternity in hell if found guilty on judgment day. You seem very knowledgeable with the Bible and think you could do much more for the Kingdom if you used that knowledge for His Glory not a church or religion.
Again no insult intended or offense intended to you Bro. Chris.

Yet, you don’t understand that Jesus put a divine institute, the Church, in charge of spreading the Kingdom of God.
I follow the Catholic Church because Jesus instituted it. You forget that, that the Church is part of His glory.
I think homeboy here just might get it. You will not BTW find in me someone who is hesitant to proclaim the holiness and justice of God who is both just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Christ Jesus. Yes, He is most terrible in His judgments and most merciful to them who believe. Them I might add who believe by His electing grace alone and only in a wholly self aware and deliberate fashion.

While I respect that decision - it speaks of a love of humanity - I do think it demonstrates the problem with the Bible’s morality.
Don’t you?
After all, you are essentially saying that you would not do the ‘holy’ and ‘righteous’ thing…

How can you respect such cowardice? It’s the same as the pacifist who refuses to do any of the dirty work but expects others to do it for him.

LOL
Regardless of what any particualr person says they would or wouldn’t do, God clearly commanded the wholesale slaughter of men, women and children during the theocratic period of the old covenant and it would be disobedience to Him to fail to comply. Knowing the God in question I see no moral issue whatsoever because I allow myself zero input regarding the clear will of God. He is the standard… period. Would I do it? I hope so. Thankfully, we longer live in a theocracy where such earthly commands would tale place (big topic).

With the knowledge of the events with Moses and the LORD between the Red Sea, Sinai, the Ark and the tabernacle? Knowing what happened to all those who disobeyed, or even complained during the 40 years in the wilderness? With the promised inheritance of the most high God before my eyes and knowing that He had directly commanded Joshua not to suffer an individual to live? Yes I would.
Saul got Himself in grave trouble for bringing back some livestock in disobedience to the command of God to kill every living thing within the borders of Amalek. “Now go and strike Amalek and utterly destroy all that he has, and do not spare him; but put to death both man and woman, child and infant, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.” 1st Samuel 15.
There is a hyoooj principle in how everything that happened to OT Israel was a type and an illustration of the eternal kingdom of God which is not of this world, but then? That was His command. He’s God and I ain’t.

While we’re on the case of taking sword to a child, hypothetically, in the past. We can point out that you stand pacifically by those that kill 60 million people a year, now.

Your sick demented godless heathen kind have no problem going into an office and paying strangers to violate their womb and butcher THEIR OWN unborn offspring, utterly dependent, waiting for a chance to live. I would follow the command of almighty God to purge the Earth of whatever unrighteousness He saw fit if we still lived in the economy of law, which we do not.
You on the other hand murder your own in the name of self worshiping convenience and hedonism. Ya know what? As horrific and sinful as that is and as much I abhor everything about it? I know that even in the stone hearted depraved holocaust of unborn children God is exalted and glorified and His mighty purpose is shown forth in all the Earth. Because most people who would commit or approve of the unthinkable evil of dismembering and murdering the absolutely most vulnerable and dependent among us, PEOPLE THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR SPAWNING? I shed no tears over the thought of them not reproducing themselves and thus self thinning their own herd.
That is a less charitable way of saying what Sloth has been saying all along. You pagans are killing yourselves off. I’d prefer you turn from your sin and know the abundant life found in Jesus Christ, but if not? I hope ya keep it up. You are a generation that celebrates death as progress. You deserve death indeed and are ironically and to the praise of God’s glorious justice bringing it to yourselves by your own hand.
You’re a pathetic hypocritical baby killing moral and spiritual corpse. I will continue to pray that God’s triumphant grace be shown to you in His reaching down into that grave and giving you his own life whereby your eyes can be truly opened and your heart truly quickened to His absolute justice, holiness, mercy and love.

I don’t mean to speak for Makavali (I don’t know his stance on this issue), but please don’t lump every atheist as someone who condones abortion. That is inconsiderate and just downright pigeonholing.
Without question abortion is the single worst abomination that exists. There is no crime worse than that which is perpetrated on the weakest and most defensless. And there is also no question that Christians through out the world (especially the Catholic church) have held the line on the crime of abortion.

Haha, don’t worry about it. As long as you stay true to the Word you’ll always have those that hate you/it. I used to get frustrated about going through long explanations of evidence for belief only for someone to say, “only an idiot would believe.” All you can do is your part. God has to do the rest.
Pretty good man. Seriously. And from Quebec? If that isn’t proof positive of the faithfulness of almighty God I don’t know what is. I don’t think I can go along with your explanation of the old covenant and the church age, but, that’s alright.

Thanks. Technically, it’s been a couple generations since my family was from Quebec, but I figured what the heck. I used to get on websites and debate until I was frustrated that somebody wouldn’t accept my viewpoint. Now I’m just glad to be able to share God’s Word and my faith. Nobody really ever convinced me to believe. It had to come from years of questioning, searching, and then finally listening.
