Hey Jim I was wondering if you could help me out here…
I’m currently on the second week of your beyond 5/3/1 program you’ve been posting on tnation. In 1.1 on the 5th week it says to do the main lifts at 75% of your tm, but were we supposed to add the 5 and ten pounds on the 4th week or should we do it after the 5th week is over?

You always add the 5-10 pounds AFTER the deload week. And the deload week is the 4th, so you add the 5-10 pounds to your calculations on the 5th week. Hope this helps.

That’s not how the Beyond 5/3/1 1.x series looks to be set up. There are 4 weeks that remain consistent, with a 5th week in which the loads lighten (there are no more PR sets, top sets, %s over 90%). I think its safe to say that you increase your training max at the end of the 5 weeks, not in the middle of a 5 week cycle.

Your right. I didn’t catch that it was version 1.1, my bad.
