I probably went heavier than I intended on the squats, but they moved well enough. I did too many reps on my first set of presses because I’m old and my eyes can’t see the difference between a 6 and an 8 on the sheet. A good session, overall, but took forever. My elbow continues to feel…okay? My cut hit a bit of a stall, but seems to be moving in the right direction, again.

First deadlifts, now squats. Awesome work!

Thanks! Yeah, I feel like I’m benefitting from the higher rep work over the winter, some solid weight gain, and probably from the run of Super Squats. Even in a caloric deficit, I feel like I’m back in a strength groove.

Damn mate this is very nice squatting. Especially given you are a giant. Nice work

Thanks! The single was a bit of a grind, but that triple was butter. I definitely have the four-plate in me any time I want it!

Great workout, but it took forever. I’m making a conscious effort to stay a little further away from failure on the bench. Hopefully this helps get it moving, even a little bit. That being said, bench press felt great tonight. I think I’m finally getting down the feel on front squats; this is the best they’ve felt. Also kind of proud of myself for the conditioning at the end (though I know it’s not much). I was gassed after the lifting and made myself stay an extra 10 minutes to get it done. I’m going to start building up from here.

That was kind of a rough walk. Had my legs quivering about halfway through. It was in a trail, but I guess it wasn’t easy walking.

I’m using my warmups to gauge what my top sets will be, and the weight just keeps going up. The single and the top triple were both about an RPE8. I’m trying not to force PRs and just let them come, but one of these days I’m just gonna throw 500 on there to knock it off my list.
I had to cut the conditioning from the end because I was running late. I have been doing much better on my conditioning in general, though.

I’m running out of things to say, my dude!

Haha no comments necessary, man (though they are very much appreciated). I actually feel a little awkward when I get in these grooves of continual PRs. It almost feels like I’m fishing for compliments.
I think that sticking to my plan and shooting for an RPE number, rather than just going for my max to hit a PR, saves me the fatigue and also allows me to slowly PR my way up. Getting a big one would be nice, but smaller ones along the way seem to lead to much more consistent progress. For me, at least.
Again, I appreciate the support. No one in my real life cares too much, haha. Or understands the hard work and consistency it takes to do some of the things we do. That’s why I like it here in the Training Logs section. Cool support for everybody and most of us understand what it takes to get there. Now I’m just rambling…

I did yard work all morning before getting to this, including mowing and clearing brush to the tune of 10,000+ steps. I was wiped out by the end of the workout.

I feel so good right now, despite the elbow issues and a little bit of knee soreness. But man, I’m still losing weight on the cut, still setting PRs and finally starting to kill my conditioning. There’s plenty of people on this forum who can do this stuff better than I, but I feel like I’m killing it right now.

I’ve been waiting for a while for the 4-plate squat. As soon as I started warming up I knew it was happening tonight; everything felt light. I could’ve done 405 last summer and I held off on it in order to “stick to the program,” but then kicked myself all winter for not just doing it. I no-doubted the depth and had more in the tank. I think I could have hit a triple, in all honesty. I was super stoked for the rest of the night, even though it’s really just a random number. It obviously represents more than that to me.

The squats, along with the SLDLs and the hack squat finisher murdered me, almost like an old-school legs day. I left the weight room quivering and had to use the railing to get up the stairs. Good training overall.

Man, I feel like I’m in such a good place right now and feeling good. Training-wise, I’m definitely in a groove and smashing goals, both in strength and conditioning. Life also seems to be in a really good spot right now, too. A lot of that stems from how happy and at peace my wife is right now, which makes me happier than anything. There are some stresses at work and I have some of my old physical issues that are giving me problems, but man I just feel good overall and like I am king of all that I survey. I’m going to try my hardest to live in the moment and enjoy this “up” as long as it lasts.

TL;DR: I squatted four plates haha
