Better Pics of Jason Momoa as Conan

Dunno. I actually missed that part of the debate. He looks (in the images) close enough to REH’s ethnic discription of the Cimmerians(kind of a light-eyed dark-haired celtic people) that the issue didn’t even come across my radar.
I never noticed it either. When it was first announced that he was playing Conan, I googled him and thought his facial features were close to perfect. He looks identical to the Nord Conan, albeit a little smaller. This being T-Nation, I doubt anyone will mind if he gains some more size however.

I liked the guy that did Hercules and Kull the conqueror

Don’t forget when we talk about the wussification of Conan that the creator of Conan, Robert E Howard, killed himself after his mom died.

I opened this thread expecting to be dissappointed or even angry. Now, I’m really looking forward to the trailer, and maybe even the movie.

hawter abzzz like those huge dudes from twilight would be nice.

Thanks Big Boss, I feel a little bit better about the movie now.

I am liking the new photos. I feel a bit better about this guy now.

At 6 feet, 5 inches and 215 -230 pounds, PRETTY INTIMIDATING!!!

It would not surprise me if he was a little heavier than that, but, based on the photos, he’s in pretty damned good shape. A lot better shape than I’m in, that’s for sure. I think he fits the role pretty damn good. You, sir, sound like a hater. Dude looks more like Conan than Arnold. Plain and simple. And I’m sure you’ll be in line to see the movie just like everyone else.

What happened to all of the “but he must be white” people?
They probably had to admit to themselves that Momoa looks more like Conan than Arnold ever did.

Unrelated , I guess.

and this pic of Conan is just gorgeous.

Once agian. MOVIE MUST BE RATED “R” and no freaking love story. bloody freaking violence. So we well see. They seem to be onto a good start

^^ It’s a Conan movie, so there may not be love, but there’d better be Conan getting ass from Hyperboria to Vanheim!

Why would I hate on a dude who has a lower height to mass ratio that most of the serious lifters on this thread. I myself am 6’3 240 so I at least have a point of reference.

In life its easier to accept mediocracy than to strive for excellence.

We see it in the weight room all the time!!!

No one is saying this guy is huge.

Could you do a better job acting as Conan?

CGI, says I.
If not, good work.

It’s not about stats, it’s about how he looks and the presence he carries. And excellence is relative to whatever endeavor you engage in and how much effort you put in. At 5’7" and 240 and having been eating like a bird and not touching a weight at all for the past 2 months (as a point of reference); I could shit all over your stats as mediocre, but your 6’3" at 240 may very well be striving for excellence for you.
