Would you believe it - T-Nation is now blocked by the network at the office!
Okay, I’m way behind on keeping my workouts logged. I’m used to updating my log in the morning while I have my coffee, but T-Nation is now a blocked site in the office.
Ready to start my first deload week on Thursday. Not really excited about a deload week - don’t really feel like I need it, but I’ll try to stick with the program for now.
my experience on the deloads- you might not feel like you need them now but stuff is cumulative. I went without a deload since March and basically I want to deload my way through summer. It prevents you burning out in the long run. Find something fun to do that week, refresh and come back kicking hard.
just my 2 cents.
Deloads suck unless they consist of tequila and the beach.

I actually planned my schedule so that my next deload week will be exactly that!
The only good thing about this deload week is that I’ve been able to spend some time in the gym with BoyfromMass.
Lacrosse season ended this week, so he’s starting a basic “Starting Strength” program this weekend. Went through his first workout with him today. I thnk he was a little intimidated by some of the guys at the gyn, but they were pretty cool, and a lot of them took the time to say hello and encourage him - we don’t get many kids his age working out there, and I’ve taken the time to explain to him the right and wrong way to go about his business, and the basics of gym etiquette.
His legs are pretty strong, which I suppose isn’t too surprising given his hockey background, but his upper body strength is non-existent. Oh well, we’ll fix that.
Another guy who’s training his son. This is exciting! How old is he? Let us know how it goes.
He’ll be 14 next month, going into his freshman year of high school
Nice of you to stop by my log, so I had to come looking for yours. Nice training in here.
So much in common. I’m turning 42 this month. I have three kids too. My oldest is a 15-year-old boy. Just finished his freshman year but he’s WAY into track and cross country right now so he has no interest in getting BIG if it would interfere with being FAST. LOL! With all that GH and T going on, I’d love to see him lift a bit, but he’s all about running now. Yay for healthy, active kids, right?
And like you, I started with more of a Starting Strength 5x5 plan, although I’m still dreaming about a pretty set of 5x5 pullups! You’ve got some strong chins! I’m now doing more of a BBing style thing most of the time. Newbie gains! Haven’t tried 5-3-1 yet.

My wife lost her father this weekend after a long battle with cancer - we spent the whole weekend at the hospital, so needless to say there was no working out over the weekend, and this week will be chaos as well. Not that I’m complaining about it - my father in law was a great guy, in fact I really lucked out with both of my in-laws.
Tried to combine two workouts to keep on schedule, but wasn’t really feeling it after a long, trying weekend.
Nice way to work through.
Sorry to hear about your father in law.
B2 - Bench Press
200 x 3, 215 x 3, 225 x 6
Did some incline dumbbell presses and some tricep extensions.
I hate working out early in the day - my energy level is much higher later in the day. But we have the wake this afternoon and tonight, and the funeral tomorrow, so I have to sneak in when I can.
my sympathies.
