Hi Guys. I want to start incorporating virgin coconut oil into my diet. I have my P/F meals later in the day, usually at around 4pm, 7pm and a small meal before bed. My question is: is there any ‘ideal’ time or preferred time for the coconut oil? I know it has the same cals as what I would normally use (olive oil or flax oil) but perhaps the way it is structured and all the saturated fat would make it a better choice at one particular time over another?
I usually take coconut oil 2-3 hours after my workout. [quote]xenithon wrote:

It shouldn’t be too hard to fit in if you use some variation of the Massive Eating diet. With the claims that it may boost metabolism and energy levels, you may want to have it as part of one of your earlier PF meals, but I seriously doubt that it will make much difference either way. Just make sure not to over do it post workout when you should be sticking to the PC meals.
Thanks for the responses. Well, my P/F meals are, as mentioned previously, at 4pm (at work), 7pm (dinner) and just before bed. Normally I have olive oil in the first two and flax oil before bed. I was thinking of perhaps alternating each night between flax and coconut oil, or maybe having the coconut oil on nights before training days.
I train 3x/week (Waterbury Method) early in the morning so maybe having the coconut oil the previous night will be beneficial for energy? Or is it a waste having it before bed?
Having the coconut early in the morning on workout days is best.It gives be a lot of energy.

I won’t be able to have it early in the morning. I already wake up at about 4:30 for my preworkout meal (P+C) and workout 45-60 minutes later. I was thinking perhaps having the oil the previous night, before bed, to replace the flax oil I would normally have?

Thanks for the info guys. One last question I had: does anyone have coconut in between meals or have a little bit with each meal (ie. spread out through the day instead of in a single sitting)?
Normally I have a few almonds with each meal. Was thinking of perhaps alternating between almonds and coconut oil. Like a small teaspoon with 2-3 meals.
If you take two table spoons each day take one with break and one with dinner,or whatever meal.If you’re taking one a day ,take it early in the morning, before bed,or later in the day.Make sure it’s unrefined coconut oil.
