Best Recipes

Hey guys, I’m looking for some bodybuilding recipes that taste awesome. I usually just eat plain chicken and, but it’s bland. Do you have any recipes, whether it’s chicken, any red meat, or protein shake recipes that taste good?

I do love a good food thread, but here is a tasty one to look through

Oatmeal + protein powder + 4 small ginger snaps cookies crumbled

Chicken drumsticks:

  1. Marinate in soy sauce, hot sauce, and coconut aminos. Add garlic or ginger if desired.
  2. Remove drumsticks from marinade and place on baking sheet greased with coconut oil.
  3. Bake at 350F for about 30 minutes.
  4. Turn on the broiler with 5-10 minutes to go for crispy skin.

Basic duck confit:

  1. Prick the skin of duck legs (or any fatty meat with the skin on) all over with a needle or toothpick.
  2. Melt a large quantity of duck or bacon fat in a large cast-iron skillet.
  3. Place the duck legs in and put in the oven for 2-4 hours on LOW heat (200F).
  4. Turn the heat up to 400F for the last 10 minutes to get crispy skin.

You can cook any skin-on meat this way.

Beef short ribs:

  1. Rub short ribs all over with salt.
  2. Melt butter in a cast-iron skillet.
  3. Brown the short ribs on all sides.
  4. Add garlic if desired.
  5. Add a cup of red wine, a few tablespoons of balsamic vinegar, and a cup of water to the pan.
  6. Let simmer for 2+ hours on LOW heat. Or, place in the over for 2+ hours on LOW heat.

Low-Carb Shepherd’s Pie

  1. Boil a bag of frozen cauliflower with a pinch of salt and a tablespoon of butter.
  2. At the same time, brown 1 pound of ground beef.
  3. Puree the cauliflower mixture (leave a LITTLE water in to help it puree smoothly).
  4. Scoop out and place on a plate. Top with ground beef.

Easy Sweet Potatoes

  1. Slice a large orange-fleshed yam in half.
  2. Grease a baking sheet with coconut oil.
  3. Place the slices FACE DOWN. Add more coconut oil.
  4. Bake on low heat (250F) for at least an hour. 90 minutes is better.

Im using the nutribullet to make my shakes and they taste great…

A couple handfulls of spinach (don’t worry, the banana disguises the spinach flavor)
1/2 cup + grinded up oatmeal
1 whole banana
A few tablespoons of greek yogurt
a scoop of protein

I havent tried adding peanut butter yet, but Im sure it tastes great!

Can also make cauliflower pizza. I bought a potato ricer that makes getting water out super easy, but it’s not needed.
It’s basically an egg, cheese (low cal would be cheap Parmesan for flavor and binding), cauliflower and spices. One tip without a potato ricer is to microwave it really as far as you think it’ll go, dehydrates the hell out of it. Chop, shred, make as fine or course as you like and bake.

Based on what you’re doing you really can do anything to make your food taste better.
I like simple food blogs, I don’t have the time or money for fancy stuff, but do like to cook a good meal. Basically, just adjust to your needs. I may not agree with some promises or health philosophies on health food websites, but my experience tells me I can adjust most recipes very easily to fit my needs.
Nomnompaleo is one, I’m not paleo, but she has fun stuff, and bacon, so, ya.

yourlighterside is an atkins, low carb food blog hosted by a slightly overweight lady lol. but there is a pot pie crust recipe made of leftover chicken breast, which is pretty meathead if you ask me. Some cool stuff on there, most are higher cals due to fats, but has some low cal gems in there (I assume low cals only since it’s summertime)

IAmAFoodBlog.com just got the food blog award of the year by Savuer (none of that matters I guess), but she cooks really simple recipes with few ingredients. Sriracha honey lime chicken was awesome, as well as miso glazed eggplant, lemongrass pork meatballs, Turkey Shepards pie (great example of adjusting to your needs from above with faux mashed potatoes) etc.

Even places like ThugKitchen lol, though now that I think of it I’ve never actually tried his recipes. Pretty funny, though.

Go here, eat happy - I’ve tried a few of his recipes and it’s pretty good. I prefer simple stuff though, but this guy is great
