Sonny Started it, and rather than flame his thread about which is the best football movie, lets hash it out here.
My top 5
Friday Night Lights
Remember the Titans
The Longest Yard
All the Right Moves
Waterboy
I was like 17 when The Program came out and remember being stoked when I saw it back then, lots of big hits, Lattimer Painting his face and all juiced up, etc. But when I saw it not too long ago it didn’t hold up.

Awww come on! No Rudy??? Never saw Friday Night Lights (I have been meaning to read the book, which I understand to be excellent), but I liked Remember the Titans and The Longest Yard (I am horrified that they are re-making it). I still put Rudy at #1, IMO. Seriously, who didn’t get a little misty when he finally gets accepted to ND?
I would also add on the Comedy end. Damn I think the title was the same as the team porttrayed. but “Wildcats” the one where Goldie Huan coaches the team. Not a bad b flick IMO. Not top 5 but worth mention.

I can’t choose Rudy, just can’t…
I hear the guy still bums around South Bend in a ND jacket getting handouts at keggers…

I have the DVD and when you watch the part where the actual Daniel Ruttiger begins talking about his experience, it almost ruins the actual movie (he is so cheesy and he throws out all of these wooden cliches about following your dreams). Seriously, just enjoy the movie on its own but Rudy himself today? Yikes. It ain’t pretty.
Wildcats was good stuff! Nice call Phil. And Necessary Roughness was good in a bad movie kind of way.
You guys are forgetting what may very well be not only the best football movie of all time but also the best sports movie of all time: “Little Giants”. Well, maybe it’s not the VERY best, but it should be on the list somewhere.
