c’mon Stu, of course not ![]()
And adjusting the seat height?
as a side note to my OP i dip with a belt and 45 lb’s . do you guys think there would be any benefit of dipping with the weight supported from around the back of the neck maybe to encourage more of a forward lean ?.

Obviously blaze… but thanks for pointing that out, GENIUS!![/quote]
If it was that obvious, why didn’t you just say it in the first place?

will try doing this, while keeping the elbow much closer to the body.
do you have the hs high row at your gym?
it’s the exact opposite motion of the incline…you might want to strengthen your back with it…

I usually do dips for triceps, but when I do them for chest I put the belt behind my neck instead of around my waist. I think it works a treat, not as badass as chains though lol

^^LOL WUT?? haha
I couldnt imagine putting the weight belt around me neck for dips. Doing sets of dips with 2 plates hanging around your neck… no thanks

i wasn’t thinking of doin them with a weight belt round my neck, maybe with a thick strap .
i just wandered if there would be any benefit .
or may be bosu ball dips now there’s something that could catch on !!!

Maybe you’re overthinking it a bit too much. Just concentrate on leaning forward a little bit, squeeze your chest throughout the movement and don’t quote lock out between reps. I’m not saying to do shitty half reps but go to almost lockout, so you keep constant tension on the muscle
OP: Just fuck around with the angles, see which hits your top chest the best…no point in using an angle someone suggests if you don’t feel it…

Sorry stu hate to continue a thread you killed ![]()
The dip belt spreads the weight over your traps aswell as your neck so its actually quite comfrotable (i’ve only done this with 1 & 1/2 plates though).
I think it does make it feel much more natural when you lean in and it hits the chest great for me.
Incline all the way barbell and dumbell as well always make sure I hit it heavy as well to gain good size imo incline bench training is the most important
Experiment and see what angle feels like it’s working the best. Everyone’s different.
